While I passed on the $65 AA/LotM deal a few weeks back, I'll take the same discs, the "inferior" package and $27 cash and be quite happy, thank you very much. I thought I'd be waiting for these to release as single discs (LOVE the first two, don't care for the others), but couldn't pass it up for $40. The packaging is such a non-issue since they go into a cabinet with closed doors. Maybe if I decide to make love to it then I'll wish I went with slip disc storage.

Browsing through the UK site, I found that the Alien Anthology is an Amazon UK Deal of the Week. They have the offer ending on December 19th, 2010, 23:59, depending on availability. If you are thinking of ordering, keep in mind that the U.S. can be 5+ hours behind in time (if you are waiting until the very last minute).

great..but is this UK version 1080i vs 1080p? Plus, anyone have any issues playing it on the US players due to disc programming, lic. authering, etc? I waited for Ult. Matrix blu for years to hit $40 with a sale but i dont want to wait a year for this to come down in the states...any feedback. Btw, darthvong...that is a sturdy, eye catching case!

From what I've read this will play on US players including a PS3 and all the special features are in HD so they will play as well.

I'll just whip up a nice custom cover for the case (6-disc blu-ray) and fix the whole packaging issue. I don't like either packaging actually.

This artwork is for an 8 or 10 dvd case, but you could probably trim or adjust the size.

I ordered mine yesterday from amazon.co.uk they just charged my CC for the grand total of $39.87 CAD. Too bad it won't be delivered until Jan 10th (that's the "estimated" delivery date)

Yeah, I was really hoping to grab this and the Harry Potter collection, but both jumnped back up in price. Guess it means it wasn't meant to be...oh well! I do know the HP set goes up and down every couple of weeks so I'll just grab it next time.
