He's hoping for a repeat of last year's Black Friday deal where all seasons of Mad Men were $10 on DVD or BD.

I doubt Amazon will repeat themselves and have the same items on sale BF, and these probably won't be 9.99 otherwise, but you can hold on to hope.

I'll wait for BF...after that...that's when I'll be more open to the pricing. Hurt...but open for negotiations.

IIRC, they were PM'ing BB for the 9.99 price, so you could be correct. However, last year BB and UE had such ridiculously good deals, and Amazon PM'd most of those deals, plus had a zillion of their own, so I wouldn't be surprised if similar deals didn't happen again. All I know is, I'll be more frugal this summer, waiting for the inevitable bargains this winter. I don't need things on release week anymore, especially now that stores rarely have good exclusives...

Season 1 was $16.99 during the 2008 Black Friday sale on Amazon, and I believe it may have gone lower after I ordered one (naturally). Surely $25 is hardly a bargain . . .

I paid less than $20 for Season 4 back in March when B&N had the 50% off coupon so I agree that you will probably do better than $25. However, I wouldn't wait for it to be $10 either. I'd say grab it when it falls to less than $20 and enjoy.

I don't know about that. Looking back over the last few years, it seems alot of the same TV goes on sale on BF. Weeds, Mad Men, Friends, Smallville, to name a few. And the prices seem to get a little cheaper every year. It's not a stretch to say Mad Men will probably go on sale this year. However nothing is a sure thing of course until we actually see it.

I'd wager that a lot of members at a site like this one have plenty of unwatched stuff in their homes to keep them busy until Season 4 drops to a bargain price, which is inevitable. Or they've already watched Season 4 on television. Besides, a great many Lions Gate releases end up bargain-priced at some point, somewhere, for one reason or another. You're right, $20 is a fair price -- even Walmart in Canada had seasons 1-3 at that price back in the spring -- but you can count on it being lower in time.

So while I'm waiting for MM seasons 4 and beyond to hit $10, I'll just enjoy my backlog of other titles that have already hit that price.

1) If you haven't done so already, check out the BBY Midnight sale thread. Amazon has already lowered the price on 40 titles to $6 to match BBY's sale tonight.
2) Anyone want to chip in and buy Lizard an Ipad so we can continue to get updates while he's on vacation?

Agree. I don't get cable so the first time I see them is when they hit Blu-Ray. $20 looks like one hell of a good deal compared to a $70 per month cable bill.
