Sheesh ... 80 bucks? This isn't the Universal Hitchcock collection mis-marked is it? ;) I can wait a loooong time for this to come down to reality. By the way, I wonder who the crack marketing genius was that decided that cramming "14 films on 5 Discs" and then promoting it on the cover was a really swift selling point ...

5 discs can easliy handle these 14 films considering that each film has a running time of 65 to 70 minutes.

Oh, undoubtedly, not to mention they are in b&w. At 80 bucks with a retail sticker of $129.98, they are selling an item for more than what most consumers paid for their Blu-Ray player. My point being ... if you're selling an expensive item, isn't the message you want to give is that the buyer is getting 14 films in high-def? Why introduce the low number of discs (5) as a positive?

Wouldn't this depend on if the films are HD or SD on these discs.
If sd then the 5 discs should be fine.

Not Amazon directly but Kiss of the Spider Woman is about the lowest it has been since its release from literaturopolis (they are the official distributor of it.. inetvideo has it also but that is likely the Canadian edition with bilingual cover art that they like to substitute without being upfront about it). ~$15 at the moment.

That thought never even occurred to me. I just naturally assumed the films would be in High Definition. I would be fairly weird if they aren't actually released that way.

True, but piling SD onto BD discs is what people have been speculating about re: a full season of a TV show on a single disc. The key would be making sure the customers know what they're getting.
