...and thank you amazon for another fast Prime shipment. My lightning deal of Dances with Wolves, ordered Friday, arrived at a local UPS hub yesterday and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Looks like Tangled dropped down to $19.99. I have an $8 coupon on it already, so looks like I'll be paying $12 tops when it's released. We'll see if Disney releases a coupon and what other stores will be stocking it for...

I swear I'm canceling every pre-order I have, because it seems like every time something comes out, the DAY my pre-order comes out, it lowers by a good 5-6 bucks.
Had I Spit On Your Grave (Original) pre-ordered for 16, and it jumps to 10 the day of release? Ugh. |

They should credit your card. If you don't get an email about it in a few days I'd call them. I've had several pre-orders drop in price after my card was charged and never had to contact them to get the refund.

I contacted them about I Spit on Your Grave just to ask how their preorder price guarantee worked after shipping and got a condescending email that basically said "We're sure you're disappointed in not getting the lower price but there's nothing we can do about it" They seem not to know their own policy.

Amazon are bastards when it comes to price adjustments after something has shipped. I guess one of the perks of being such a huge company is that they can shit on their customers and not care. I recently had a similar situation where a film I pre-ordered dropped in price on release day and I got a very nasty email saying they would only give me a price adjustment this one time. Then, low and behold everybody who pre-ordered that film automatically got the price adjustment. So it seems that there is a big disconnect between the CS reps and their overall policy.

It just takes a couple of days for Amazon to issue the credit/refund. I've never had to contact them about this. As long as the price drops at any point on release date, I get the refund. Even if something shipped at $20, if it goes any less on the actual release date, then I get the credit. Now, if the drop happens the next day, I'm SOL...

I searched for Tangled and found 2 threads... a review of the movie and an old discussion of the 4-disc BD 3D set at Amazon ($29.99 but was $21.99 for a while), so I'm not sure the best place to discuss Tangled. I see people on SD posting today about the Tangled 2-disc BD + Beauty and the Beast BD for about $28 total as if that were a new deal. I already have BATB (as I'm sure many others here do too), and I assume there are no other deals for Tangled BD?
Has anyone found out the exact differences between the $29.99 4-disc and $19.99 2-disc BD combo packs? All I can find on Google is that the 4-disc adds a 3D BD and a digital copy, but besides the movie itself in 3D does the 3D BD or digital copy disc contain any additional extras? And most importantly, is the normal BD movie disc 100% identical between both sets or did Disney pull a Prince of Persia (I think it was that one) where they stripped out features from their single BD release to try to force you to buy the more expensive combo pack if you wanted all the extras? |
