I wouldn't call them a "random site". Amazon felt comfortable enough to give them 175 million dollars last month so I'm sure your credit card is safe.

I received my Universe S1 today (from the $8.75 deal), and it was USED! No shrinkwrap, package had scuffs, discs had fingerprints, and there was no insert (dunno if there was supposed to be). First time I've ever received something like this from Amazon...

EDIT: They're sending me a replacement, and I'll send the used one back. How strange...

That's disappointing. I pretty much buy everything from Amazon these days and haven't had an experience like that. I'm guessing maybe they mixed up your order for a brand new copy with a Marketplace order for a used copy?

I got a used copy of The Universe, too. Thought it was weird. Still, it was a good price.

Got my copy of Close Encounters. Took a while, but I wasn't going to watch it immediately anyway so it was worth the wait for 7.99.

These days I care more about the movie than the extras, but this is a nice-looking set.

My copy of the Universe S1 was shrinkwrapped, but there are no security seals on any sides of the blu-ray case. I haven't opened it yet as I planned on giving it as a gift. Anyone know if a brand new copy is supposed to have the seals?

If you look at some of my older post about what happen to me last month. This was it. I was getting to many bad discs. Sending them back. Just be careful.

Wait, did you get other opened movies from amazon, or did something else happen to you?

Funny thing is, I found myself satisfied with keeping the order because I just had to exchange season 5 of The Office because amazon sent it to me with no padding and it was crushed; and I worry about being banned.

Amazon has some nerve banning customers when they pull this kind of shit with people placing orders.

I also worry about getting banned due to returning things. But if I order something new I expect it to be just that.

All of this because they messed up on quality control on one item that's in their warehouse without shrink-wrap? On an item that you didn't return because it was fine and wasn't a gift? And then you work up people by bringing up Amazon "banning customers"? It seems you have an agenda beyond what this thread is for.

If you know of a better on-line merchant than Amazon, let us know who it is. If you want to further complain about Amazon, please take it to the Store Forum where it belongs.

I don't understand why people are afraid of being banned for returning some damaged items. drq2's quantity was far different.

Well Yes and No. The account that was set up is a corp account. I had my buyer buy some Wii games (and a Game system). She did and 3 of the star wars games came open. Turn out she thought she was buying all new ones from Amazon. Somewhere along the line it turn into a used order. I seen the paper work and they did say from Amazon.com. Any who 2 of those where used and one was new. I just keep them.

Amazon is no longer fun for me.

Last year under my name I had 611 orders not items. 18 returns. 11 of those where MP sellers of just movies that did not have the right count nor the art work. Used is use but come one. Needless to say those all went back. It was also in a heavy used month. Out of the other 7 items. There was problems. Not one item went back under buyers remorse.

This does not even count the other 23 orders that was placed under then new account.

Given that. They will not tell you why they did what they did. It took me calling the corp office and getting them to give me a account. I will say this. They would not, and they stood behind their cis people. It was not till I said something that I never almost never say they gave me a account. Buy this time it was way to late to save the big order of the year. In the end it kinda workout better for me.

I still like Amazon.com I just myself no longer buy as its no longer any fun for me.

You already have a thread in the Store Forum discussing this, no need to re-iterate the same story. Like I said, your situation was far different. There's no reason to be afraid of being banned because you want to return a single crushed item.
