Wow, that's a pretty dirty move. They probably waited until every pre-order had shipped and then dropped the price. Mine was just delivered yesterday. Unfortunately, with my past experience with this, I don't see them adjusting the price. If your copy still hasn't been delivered yet, you may still have a chance.

This is annoying. I just received Vampire Circus yesterday as well, at the higher price. Well, it only cost me $1 and change with the last of my GC credit from the amazon Visa, so I won't complain. I actually debated back and forth on whether to wait until after release to order this.

Well, I just heard from Amazon about Vampire Circus and guess what, as expected, I got a canned email about how they wouldn't budge on a price adjustment! :lol:

The funny thing was I never even asked for a price adjustment and instead told them how shady I thought that move was.

Fixed. Damn line space gremlins! Hard to catch them all, especially with a list this long, and I'm at "work" (a one day a week volunteer job) so I really ought to be doing something more productive than listing Amazon price drops.

Picked up The Good The Bad The Weird. Really liked the action and The Weird's performance cracked me up. Wish it had everything the Region B version did, but for $11 this'll do.

It seems like the moral of the story is not to pre-order a DVD or blu-ray from Amazon unless it's a steal of a deal.

This is what I try to do. If I think the price is high or especially if I've seen it listed lower elsewhere, I'll cancel my pre-order a few days before the end of the week before its release and 90% of time it's actually at the lower price by the release day.

Sometimes they do just drop it a couple more dollars in just a couple of days, but it's not common and you can't really predict it.

The best pre-orders at Amazon are when the catalog titles come out because Amazon usually has a low, low price at first and it actually is higher by the release date in a lot of cases.

I saw this on another forum, but you can get $12 in Tron Movie Cash by purchasing certain titles (cheapest is $13.49) and supposedly they will send multiple codes even though against the deal T&C:

Best titles I could see are Armageddon (no extras though, so hang on to your Criterion) or the National Treasure films.

If you are going to see this in 3D or IMAX it would almost make the BLU-Rays free if your theater participates.
