Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

But IS it the David Attenborough version? When I added it into my cart it said narrated by Oprah.

Is there a way for that 10% link to work with life?

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

Found it. I used the library link for the 10%. Here's both links to both versions:

Life - Oprah version on blu-ray:

http://btobvideo.barnesandnoble.com/...d+attenborough

Life - David Attenborough version on blu-ray:

http://btobvideo.barnesandnoble.com/...9099252/?pwb=2

Edit: Thanks to the posters above for the correct link. I wouldn't have posted this if I had noticed yours first!

Thank you ktg! I grabbed one too at $18 w/coupon + free ship. There's a 30% coupon starting tomorrow, but with these stock issues, I didn't want to play around.

When I click the library link, it shows it as $19.99. Is that right?

Put it in your cart, discount taken at check-out.

I'm not sure, but if you are not a member, the Boeing link might be a better approach w/free shipping.

Coupons don't work anymore with any of the bookstore links. You can get 8% cashback if you purchase through e b a t e s and coupons will work also.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

On amazon, someone is saying the Attenborough one will not play on PS3. Is that nonsense?

This Blu-ray disc content is of Video resolution: 1080/50i which means the frequency is 50 Hz. Most of the Blu-ray players in US can read this 50Hz content and convert it to 60Hz which is the playback standard in US. Unfortunately, PlayStation3 bought in US (Region A) does not play 50Hz content.
So keep away from this UK edition, if your only playback device is a PS3.

Note: Single star has nothing to do with the content; just to catch the eye of any PS3 owner who plans to buy this one.

I purchased it when it was first released and it played fine on my PS3. Didn't have any problems. I think that post is about the release in the UK and not the U.S. I got my copy from B&N.com.

Do you think they meant the actual UK one?

Yea, that's the original UK version. This one is just like the BBC Planet Earth.

P.S. - thanks again for the info LASER.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

Got an order off for LIFE (Attenborough) for $18.48 w/coupon.

Frankly, I couldn't care less if any of the other orders I placed in this 'sale' go through or not. It would be nice to have the That's Entertainment set for $8, but I wouldn't be too bummed if they canceled the Austin Powers or Batman sets on me. Life, otoh, is a title I've been craving for a while. I'll be very disappointed if this gets canceled out of the blue.

Also, gotta say that even though the exclusive member deals have been degraded quite a bit, especially online, it's great to be able to jump on a deal like this and get expedited shipping for no charge. I'm gonna miss that when my membership expires in 8 days.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

Now I just have to think about whether this is smart to watch with the gf. We watched Crimson Wing yesterday and she did not like all of the baby flamingo killings. I hear the water buffalo/komodo dragon part is pretty gross.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

I tripped over Austin Powers and That's Entertainment being available and tossed them in the cart, but then couldn't remember my account login. By the time I get that mess sorted, TE was OOS again. Suckage.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

Well was not able to use any coupons and did not want to risk missing out on Life again like yesterday settiung up an account and then having it go OOS. Even paying shipping this was only $24 and as much of a bargain hunter as I am this is good enough even for me.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

I haven't seen the show, but I've long been a fan of Attenborough's docs going back to Trials Of Life.
if it's even half as good as Planet Earth was, $24 is still a steal for it.
