That is pretty funny! I'd love to transfer my $8 TS3 coupon to some other BD purchase!

I'm sure b&m will have a better deal on ts3 and possible mater's tt, but even so I rather naughtily did the same thing about 4:30, received roughly the same reply within 20 mins and before 5 I had ordered Simpsons S13 LE DVD set for $21.99

Forbidden World - $15.99
I wish Starcrash would drop a couple of bucks, then I'd use my $8 credit towards it.

No problem guys, glad I could help. For what it's worth, if they have a promotion like that going on and you don't get the code or whatever they are almost always good at doing this same sort of thing.

I assume you already have the BD of GBU. I just have the Sergio Leone Anthology on DVD, but $27.99 is still too much for a SD to BD upgrade of 3 (very good) movies, but it's great for anyone who doesn't already own them, although quite honestly I can't see how anyone who buys movies wouldn't already have them.

I'm going to try Brent's email with some slightly different wording (otherwise they might start to get suspicious if all emails look the same). I picked "Other non-order questions" for the issue and details. I'm hoping that's the best choice. I learned from past experience where you send it can make a difference. Also, since this is a request for a coupon, I assume it's less harmful than a request for a price adjustment or applying a coupon to an existing order?
The reason I mention it was last year when people were going crazy applying multiple coupons to Monsters Inc + Up BDs, 1 or more people posted that Amazon keeps a tally of how many such requests you have, and if you do it too much they can put you on a bad list (though I don't recall what the consequences of being on that list is). I'm assuming/hoping this request for a coupon should be safe.

Picked up The Man With No Name box set. I used the $8 coupon on it too, so it came out to $19.99, which is awesome. It's a hell of a deal for me since I still don't own these for some reason.

Re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray Part II
Thanks, Brent. Using a variation of your magic words, Amazon sent me an email saying I'll automatically get $8 off my next order. I haven't done a coupon or pricematch attempt at Amazon since the Monsters + Up BD deals last November, so I should be safe, but I have this gut feeling doing this sort of thing is like a "hard inquiry" on one's credit score... it's minor unless you do it often. I order a lot from Amazon and wouldn't want to be on their "bad list" (assuming it's true that one exists).
Unfortunately Amazon didn't say how long the $8 credit will stay on my account. Does anyone know? Do I have to hurry up and order something or will it probably be there for a few months?
I also have to be sure the next thing I order is something I'm 100% certain to keep as I assume if I were to cancel an order (preorder) to which the coupon was applied, I'd lose the $8?

When they manually add credit like this to your account it doesn't ever expire. You can also use coupon codes and stuff on top of it if you ever get that chance as well. It's pretty much like any other normal Amazon credit.

This was the response I got from amazon about the toy story 3 code.
We occasionally offer promotional certificates to potential customers or to selected existing customers, to encourage them to shop at Amazon.com. I apologize that you weren't sent a $8 promotional code for Toy Story 3, however, this was only sent to selected customers.
lame.

Gotta love Amazon's CS, the only business who still follows "the customer is always right" motto.
