I bet there would probably be a couple I'd grab at a $6.99 price point (I have plenty of replacement cases already, so no worries there).....it is about time they drop their used/previously rented prices, as even $12.50 apiece is WAY too much for BDs IMO....especially when it is titles you can pick up NEW for $10 or under at Walmart/Costco/etc.....
This was a corp price drop yesterday, there are stores that haven't seen the note so didn't change the stickers. I was off yesterday so when someone tried to buy Vantage Point and it wrang at $6.99 I knew somethig was up.
My store has about 60 pv blus.
about 20 were $6.99, 30 or so were $9.99 and about 10-15 were $12.99.
I don't think they work in the 4/20 bundles.
If you see something you want ask the person to check the price.

If I ask, can they bring up a screen listing all the $6.99 and $9.99 titles? I really don't want to waste their time scanning titles to see how much they are.

I did see a blank shelf section (3 4-foot sections). I wonder if they are going there?

Nope one at a time, unless they have the printed list handy.

Most were $9.99 & $12.99 at mine. A couple $6.99 titles (Knowing, Get Smart, Role Models, Speed Racer) but not any of the newer ones.

Re: Blockuster pv blu, many ringing at $6.99

Semi-Fail at mine just now. They were $6.99, 9.99, and 12.99.

Prices were not changed, so I took a stack to check and employee was nice and cocky when I asked him to scan, and then his eyes lit up when he saw the prices.

He did try a 4 for $20 but the computer wouldn't allow it.

I picked up Defiance and Pelham 123 for $13 each, and now kinda wish I didn't at those prices. I will probably keep them, but whats BBV return policy on used?

Picked up "The Soloist" for $9.99. I sure wish I would have held off on buying a lot of titles months ago. But I guess I had no way of knowing I'd find them for a few dollars more on BD now.

Re: Blockuster pv blu, many ringing at $6.99

I went in tonight to the store near where I work and picked up some of the $6.99 titles. I got Quarantine, Rambo, and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans for myself, and The Fall and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist for a friend. When they rang up both Underworld and Nick and Norah's they were marked wrong and should have rang up for $9.99 but they honored the $6.99 sticker. The manager said they just got a memo about the price drop Monday and that there were going to be four new ends of used blu rays out in the store, and that they were going to start to carry more and more blu's over the next six months. Also they were going to put out more used blu's tomorrow. The stack that I saw that they were marking $14.99 looked like it had Zombieland, Whip It, Halloween 2, Gamer, Up, Terminator Salvation, Star Trek, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Public Enemies. There were more stacks but I didn't catch what were in them. They had about 2 to 3 of each blu ray I listed that they were going to put out.

Re: Blockuster pv blu, many ringing at $6.99

$12.99/$14.99 and 2/$25 is too much for a used blu-ray in an blockbuster DVD case, but I'm definitely interested in the $6.99 price point for a decent title.

Re: Blockuster pv blu, many ringing at $6.99

Blah. All the titles my store had were crap and even crappier pricing. $9.99 for Semi-Pro or Paul Blart Mall Cop? No, thank you. I'm hoping that they're just out of space for used and that some better titles have yet to be put out on the floor.

I was at my local BB just a few days ago and noticed Vicky Christina Barcelona used. Anyone know the price of this one?

Edit: $9.99

If I could find "Get Smart," "Milk," and "Zack & Miri" for $6.99 I'd be pleased.

Re: Blockuster pv blu, many ringing at $6.99

A friend went in to return some blu's at her local Blockbuster and said the markdown should be done by tomorrow. She told me that there were a lot more blu's than she thought they would have marked down, some she said looked like it was new stuff put out. She didn't really get to check and see what they marked down, but she did ask about any sales. They said by Sunday all the blu's that are $12.99 to $14.99 should start working for the normal 2 for $20 sales just like the normal dvds. She said that they hinted that a 3 for $20 sale was coming up also. Take this with a grain of salt, because when they first put out used blu's I was told the same thing and it never came to be, and their clerks aren't the smartest in the world when it comes to sales at their stores.

Got Dan in Real Life today at BB. Not a bad deal, now to just switch out the disc to a real non-shitty case.

Re: Blockuster pv blu, many ringing at $6.99

Edited to include the three BV visits I made for tonight.

EDIT for 03/11/10.

Ended up purchasing...

$6.99
Dan In Real Life (lowest price new: $9.99 in September, current price new: $14.99)
The Fall (lowest price new: $19.99 in December, current price new: $23.99)*
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (lowest price new: $12.99)
Milk (current price new: $11.49)
Semi-Pro (lowest price new: $13.99 in December, current price new: $26.99)

$9.99
Crank 2: High Voltage (lowest price new: $12.99 in December, current price new: $18.99)
Role Models (current price new: $14.99)
Tropic Thunder (lowest price new: $9.99 in December, current price new: $22.99)
Walk Hard (lowest price new: $18.99 last March, current price new: $29.99)

Checked out some prices for other titles, didn't bite the bullet...

$9.99
Fired Up (lowest price new: $12.99 in December, current price new: $19.99)
Ghost Town (current price new: $9.99)
Saw II (lowest price new: $7.99 in January, current price new: $14.99)

$12.99
I Love You, Man (current price new: $16.99)

Source for prices: Blu-ray.com's price tracker.

* = YMMV. One Blockbuster had it priced at $9.99, another had it priced at $6.99.

Quick heads-up: none of BV's copies mention digital copies. For example, Crank 2 has the banner on front that says "Fully Charged Edition with Digital Copy." Not BV's edition, drops the "Fully Charged."

Are you sure "Role Models" was $6.99? Most other people are reporting it's $9.99. I'd be very interested in it at the cheaper price, but not so much at the more expensive one.

Scanned a bunch of titles at my store and all were 2 for $25. Many of te same titles listed here. Maybe not a corp store? They were in BD cases though with correct artwork.

Darn, wish I had seen this thread before I made my once a month trip to Blockbuster yesterday. Though $6.99 is a bit steep....
