I went to four Targets on my side of town and all of them were sold out of the District 9 Blu Ray. I bit the bullet and bought it at Best Buy.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

I'm done with this coupon (unless people report it working next week too) and gave up on finding the Family Guy BD. So, in the end I got the following with this coupon combined with PMs and Smartsource/Redplum coupons:

Tinkerbell - $1.99
G-Force - $4.96
Wedding singer - $4.99
Speed - $4.99
Body Heat - $4.99
Terminator - $4.99
Terminator 3 - $4.99
Inglorious Basterds - $6.99
Master and Commander - $6.99
The Day Earth Stood Still (1951) - $6.99 (at Best Buy)
District 9 - $14.99 (not a great price, but I just had to have this movie)
Terminator Salvation - $11.96
Public Enemies - $7.96 (possibly $5 if they let me price adjust next week)
Snatch - $6.99
Fight Club - $11.99
Wizard of Oz - $7.99
Step Brothers - $3.99
Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist - $3.99
Reservoir Dogs - $4.99
Bullitt - $4.99
Harry Potter 5 - $10

This combined with Amazon's pricing before/on/after BF means I've bought way too many BDs, but at these prices how can one resist?

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

At Target with coupon:
Tinkerbell: $5 (after $10 Disney coupon)
Up!: $15 (I didn't have the $10 Disney coupon for this one)
(500) Days of Summer: $20

Blu-Ray purchases made elsewhere in the past couple of weeks:
G-Force: $14 (at Meijer, after $10 Disney coupon)
Weeds, Seasons 1 through 4 (BD): $50 (Best Buy) (will watch then sell on eBay)

The Ugly Truth: (no extra cost, it came with my TV / Playstation 3 bundle)

All of these were blind buys. I just got my Blu-Ray player earlier this month, I won't be buying a ton of Blu-Rays but did want a few in the house. The thing that impresses me about Blu-Rays are the digital copies that come with some of them. With the exception of TV Shows, I don't think that I'll be buying many, if any, Blu-Rays that don't come with a digital copy.

Heat - $9.99

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

I used this coupon 8 times yesterday alone. I think I've used it around 16 times this week and probably close to 30 overall.

After issues finding Up, Monsters Inc, Hangover and Inglourious Basterds on release day, I decided to hit Target when they opened on Tuesday, picking up District 9 and Something, Something Dark Side.

A negative on District 9 as well. The guy stocking the shelves didn't seem to know the difference between a Blu-ray or DVD. When I showed him the empty slot, he mumbled that they only got a couple of "those ones" in on Tuesday and didn't offer to look in the stock room.

Most Targets have the ability for you to punch in the DPCI number (9 digit number that appears on the tag like 123-45-6789) on the price scanners. It will tell you if they have any more in back. If it says they have more, make them go in the back for you. If it says no, you don't have to waste your time trying to get an employee to help you.

Hear, hear. Won't go so far to say I'm glad it is expiring, just wish there were more decent titles available for $10, but the BD's I'll buy at $5 that I would never consider even at $7. Bet a number of them get proper releases at some point in the future.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

Just remember that this coupon, like all coupons, probably doesn't really expire today.

Yesterday I used a coupon that 'expired' in September, and it scanned and worked automatically at Target.

Yeah but that date is right there & it's pretty obvious so unless you get someone who doesn't pay attention I bet it gets rejected quick.... lol

You really think cashiers look at the coupons?

It's YMMV of course, but I bet I've used over 10,000 coupons in my life, with a cashier reading them perhaps twice. They just scan and go.

Wow. That's a coupon every day for over 27 years.

Most are grocery coupons of course.

Anyone with insider knowledge of coupons here? Do they have a built in buffer past the printed expiration? Do some never expire? Is it up to individual chains/stores to program the way they work? etc etc

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

Bought my last 2 with the $5 coupon:
1. District 9 $14.99
2. Night at the Museum 2 $14.99

Makes about 9 BR I bought with the coupon, 3 I gave away as gifts.

Today is a sad day, the deal is over.

Good night to all and have a great Christmas!!!!

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

Got District 9. Funny thing, a good samaritan left a ton of those coupons lying around on the shelves. I grabbed an extra and used it to pick up Angels & Demons.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

Took trips to 3 Targets, but I finally got District 9. Also got Pelham 123, Under Siege, and pre-bought Funny People (hoping they let me keep the coupon when I get a price adjustment on Sunday). I used this coupon about 40 times. I bought every single 9.99 title they had since the coupon started (well, 4.99 after coupon) plus many 14.99 and 19.99 titles.

I just rented that DVD tonight, $1 from Redbox. I figured it would be a nice movie to watch with the kids on Christmas eve.

I had meant to leave my extras today, but forgot to bring them in and I wasn't about to fight the madhouse to go back inside. Besides, I had a trunk-full of meat that they'd plastered $3 off stickers on (since they're closed tomorrow, they were trying to clear the shelves). 3-packs of Pork-Chops for $1.50 and sirloin steaks for under $5! Oh, yeah, I went ahead and grabbed Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 on blu-ray

Went back for one more go-around, but didn't pull the trigger on anything (don't feel the need to re-buy anything I have on DVD). I walked around for about 15 minutes waiting for somebody to start looking at the Blu-rays so that I could hand out the coupons I had left. Finally gave up and stuck a few of the $3 off manufacturer coupons with their movie (Grinch, Funny People, Public Enemies -- all the 12/27 expiration dates) and left a stack of Target's $5 coupons on the shelf. As I was walking away, I saw a guy buying Harry Potter so I grabbed one to give to him.
