Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

Used the coupon(s) on 3 titles last night using 3 different cashiers:
Transporter
Transporter 2
Gothika

Strangely, the coupon worked with the Transporter films but would not work with the Gothika transaction (cashier made a manual override). I wonder what makes it work on some titles & not on others?

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

So it is confirmed.

The coupon WILL work for Terminator: Salvation.

Your total will be 16.00 and change, which means you can enjoy the 4th movie in the comfort of your home for less than the price for two at the cineplex.

There's absolutely no reason why your Target won't accept this coupon.

When I gave it to the clerk, it scanned without any problems....

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

Just brought in my receipt from Friday with the price-matched purchase of WoO and GWtW and 2 printed $5 off coupons. They both scanned in fine and they gave me back a $10 bill.

Anyone know whether or not they're carrying the Lost Season 5 Dharma Initiative Kit and how much it (and the regular Season 5 Bluray) will be?

"price-matched purchase"? I, too, bought WoO and GwtW on BF and would like to get my Hamilton back; all I need to do is bring in the receipt and coupons? I've already opened both discs - WoO is just stunning to behold BTW - but I won't need to bring those back, would I?

No - just bring your receipt. From what the clerk told me, they have a "missed coupon" selection. I bought Wizard of Oz and Dark Knight on Friday and on Saturday was given $10 cash because of the coupon.

One new $9.99 price-cut at my store today The Gauntlet staring Clint Eastwood.

Bullitt, Swordfish, Terminator 3 and The Omega Man were the only other titles still $9.99.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

This site is a double edged sword. It's great to get updated information on bargains for us consumers but I have a feeling the ebayers and resellers use information like this to their advantage and the bargain items get raped when things like this happen.

Went to 3 Targets in San Diego and ALL of them were out of any dvd that was $9.99.

I never really paid attention to members of this board who would ask about how perfect the discs looked or if they had a slip cover, etc....now I realize most of them are just resellers.

You have to realize that many of these bargains are all OVER the internet and originated ON the Target website. So just because someone is using coupons doesn't mean it's just DVDtalk.

As for "most of them are just resellers", I say nonsense. Most of us are just anal about getting complete, perfect dvds and blus... Although having said that, I did sell a few GWTW to hedge my Black Friday overspending. :P

Yeah, welcome to the 21st century. Before, when you wanted to get good concert seats, you would stand in line at a local Ticketmaster outlet, but now you are competing with people across the country who snap up the good seats just to resell.

Definitely there are people that were standing in lines early morning on Black Friday solely to purchase loss leaders to resell later. I don't like it, but understand and accept it.

You know, I've never understood the shameless greed of the Ferengis at times. Beast Buy had a coupon for $20 off a $20 videogame a couple of months back and some were cheerfully posting photos on CAG of the stacks of games they intended to flip at other stores. The people who wanted to just get ONE copy for themselves were SOL while these goons cleaned up. The closest I've gotten was picking up four copies of the Appleseed Ex Machina Steelbook at Big Lots for $3 to have a few extra to sell (which I did for $7 - me no big gouge chief), but I left another half-dozen for others. I don't want to be SOL, thus I don't screw utter strangers. I'd like to think this adds to my karma bank, but it probably means I'm just a chump.

Unfortunately, there were 7 others that wanted them so one person was, in fact, screwed and SOL. Negative karma for you!

I bought the movies last Wednesday and price-matched them to the Black Friday ad during the day on Friday. I just brought the $5 off coupons in, showed them my receipt and they gave me $10 back for the two movies.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

I thought about picking up "Transporter" 1 & 2, but from the reviews I read, not only are they the "rated" cut (compared to the "unrated" cut released in other regions), but they lack all of the DVD special features. Even for $5 each, no thanks.

Actually, I was back at that store several months afterward and they still had a couple of copies. No one wanted it there. I have a neutral karma footprint.

To answer my own question, it looks like it'll be $47.99 for the regular and $74.99 for the deluxe version.
I wonder if Amazon will be lower than $42.99/$69.99??

Welcome to the world of blu-ray. Sometimes you get lucky and get it all, sometimes you get nothing.

Yeah I know, it's ridiculous. I absolutely refuse to upgrade (or buy) a Blu-ray that doesn't at least have most of the DVD special features. Generally I won't buy one that doesn't have ALL of them.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

I thought vendors had limits in place to keep people from using them as wholesalers?

I work for a bookseller, and thanks to Target/Amazon/Walmarts 9.99/9/98/8.99 price war, I could go into one of their stores and buy certain books retail for almost 50% less than the normal wholesale cost of buying it direct frontlist from the publisher. But all the stores had a limit...anywhere from 2-5 copies. Didn't the same apply to DVD/Blu rays?

That's if the stores enforce it.

Total Recall BD doesn't have the Ahnuld/Verhoeven commentary (presumably because they didn't want to pay the Governator again for it) but the budget-priced BD of The Rock came with all the extras that were on the Criterion Collection release. I paid about HALF for the BD than I did for the CC DVD!

Robocop is another extras-free release. Live Free or Die Hard is the theatrical cut (WTF?!?) and they still haven't put out the unrated Mr. & Mrs. Smith, DAMMIT!!!

True...I have never tried it so I guess I just assumed they would...especially on Black Friday where the idea is to please as many different folks as possible..

Just price match T:S at Best Buy from their website and it will be the same price and you'll save a coupon for something else.
