Looks like they are upping prices while that direct link is down. For example, if you go directly to "Shaun of the Dead" now, it went from $16.99 to $20.99.

Looks like only 4 are at the previous prices -- King Kong, FNL, Hot Fuzz and Army of Darkness. Of course, these could change any moment.

They all went up by $4 to $5 as well. I'm glad that I didn't hesitate in placing my order this morning.

King Kong and Van Helsing are now 17.49.

I have just got to get used to checking DVD Bargains AND Blu-Ray Bargains when I log in.

Also only found 5 movies I would want (Army of Darkness, Hot Fuzz, Shaun, Van Helsing, and King Kong), so would up getting Army x 2 and Shaun x 5 to bring me up to 10 movies.

I was on the fence for a while and undecided whether or not to bite. Oh well, the $4-5 increase per title made the decision easy. Thanks Amazon.

Some references on their site show buy 2 save $20 but apparently it's buy 3 save $20. After the price upping, what was once a fantastic deal is now mediocre and passable.

Earlier today, I picked up Army of Darkness and Shaun of the Dead for myself and Fast and Furious for my dad (he likes car movies). I placed the order pretty early, but Amazon had already increased the price of Army of Darkness to $17. Luckily, I got my order in before the additional price increases. The same order would cost me $13 more at the moment.

Saw this posted this morning while at work, but I didn't have time to jump on it. Now that I'm home, with the price increases, it's an easy pass. I had most on HD-DVD anyway, so I'm not too upset. Congrats to those that got the bargain before the price increases...

LOL... same here. Decent deal before Amazon jacked the prices up (as they inevitably do), but I'm broke, so it didn't matter.

I'll only have 1 extra Van Helsing (I picked it over King Kong because it showed $1 more at Wherehouse). The only reason I'm afraid to buy at Target, trade in to FYE, and return the extra to Target when it ships from Amazon is... what if somehow the order gets canceled or never arrives? I know it's unlikely, but then I would've spent who knows how much at Target ($15+) for only $6 credit. I'm one of those "don't count your chickens until they're hatched" people. But thanks for the suggestion I hadn't thought of.

*IF* the library will take them, but if they won't then where can you get rid of HD-DVDs nowadays? eBay for a few bucks each? I don't know any place to sell HD-DVDs for any worthwhile amount. I only bought Van Helsing and King Kong because (1) I like King Kong enough to justify having it on both and (2) I don't have Van Helsing on HD-DVD.

I think the reason this sale was pulled early is that so many people were ordering 3 Van Helsings, 3 King Kongs, and 4 of the $17.99-$19.99 titles that Amazon was effectively selling the $12.49 titles for $2.49 ($12.49 - $10) and enabling people to get a $10 discount on each of the remaining 4. I bet they figured most orders would consist of all $17.99+ titles.

Yikes, they raised everything a few dollars. I thought it was a decent way to get all the Fast and Furious movies before, but held off on spending more money. Sucks that they're all over $20 now.

Looks like Amazon raised prices to stop the deal from being any good.

I'm thinking Goodwill and you can count that as a charitable deduction as well.

I need some writeoffs for this year and I've donated some DVDs I had before to the library so I'm hoping they take these in too.

Agreed. Still, for a moment there I was so tempted to upgrade a few titles given the relatively cheap prices but luckily reason prevailed. That, and Amazon suddenly jacking up their prices.

I'm perfectly happy with my movies on HD DVD.
