Jumped on Ice Age 3 for my son (he's been asking for it non-stop). $10 is very solid for a new release combo BD/DVD set like that. I have Spaceballs in my cart for $8.99. Eyeing a few others. I'd be all over Braveheart at $10, but just paid a bit more at Gohastings used (thought it was like new). May just bite the bullet on Gladiator at $10, meaning free after the rebate.
Great job Amazon--now this is the type of sale we've been waiting for.

Wanted is $10, matching Wal-Mart.

While discussing the sub $10 Amazon Blu-Ray deals here, would anyone recommend Underworld Rise of the Lycans for $9.99 which is an upcoming deal? Reviews were pretty negative about this movie which I haven't seen. I liked the first 2 Underworlds and Van Helsing, but don't know if this would be worth risking $9.99.
Is it a fun action movie? Yes.

Damn.. bought P.S. I Love You for 9.99 and then remembered that 9.99 isnt the best price going.. Amazon hasnt yet price matched BB's at 7.99.. so, I'll just send customer service an e-mail after they do the price adjust.. and if they dont, well, screw it.. it's for the wife's Christmas stocking.
Besides, I'm about to absolutely lick Transformers ROTF in about an hour.

No, the Braveheart and Gladiator Paramount rebates are actually good through sometime next year since they came out rather recently. I don't have the exact date in front of me, but I want to say June 2010 or something like that.

I believe June 2010 is correct for those 2 titles...

It's slowing down some, so you still have time.. but it's still at 52% claimed 20 minutes into the sale.. I would guesstimate that you have about 23 minutes to make it happen.

I guess we're talking about Lightning Deals in this thread too even though most are not $9.99. So, while speaking of Transformers 2 Blu-Ray, could anyone confirm what I gathered from glancing at every review on DVD-Basen between the Walmart IMAX version and the Amazon non-IMAX version (the difference being about $8 if you have no tax at Amazon)?
The extras between both editions are 100% identical. The only difference is the length of the movie and the aspect ratio changes many times to IMAX scope for about 8 minutes of total scenes. (Sadly not a single review specifically compared the extras between editions... just the movie itself.)
If both were the same price, I'd take IMAX even though I'm sure the aspect ratio changes would be a little disconcerting. However, I can't see 8 minutes of footage in a more detailed aspect ratio being worth $8 more. Watch Walmart pricematch Amazon once mine has shipped from Amazon.
