Movies that shot scenes specifically for the trailers?
What movies had scenes shot just for the trailers? To be clear, I don't mean scenes used in the trailer that were later deleted from the finished film but were originally intended to be used in the movie or alternate takes of scenes that were in the actual movie, but scenes that were specifically shot just for the trailer?
Probably one of the more well-known trailers that had scenes shot just for the trailer is the teaser trailer for Terminator 2: Judgment Day:
What other movies also had scenes shot specifically for the trailer?

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is the first one that popped into my head.
Not sure if it counts, but when Pierce Brosnan did GoldenEye, there was a trailer that had him walking out and saying, "You were expecting someone else?" Not really a scene, though.

Austin Powers:Goldmember
The Toy (Richard Pryor in a box)
Revenge of the Nerds 2
Poltergeist 2's teaser had an alternate take of "They're back" which is what ^the Nerds teaser spoofed.
Leatherface:TCM III
Jason Takes Manhattan
Die Hard 2's teaser had an alternate take of the "How could the same thing happen to the same guy twice" scene.

Trailer for Psycho, not just for the Hitchcock tour, but when we see a clip from the shower scene at the end, it's Vera Miles in the shower instead of Janet Leigh.

Men in Black II
because the funny scenes in the trailers were the only funny scenes in the whole movie! And sadly, that's not an exaggeration
disclaimer: yes, I know this is not the example the OP wanted

Austin Powers 2 had the "You were expecting someone else" scene where it starts looking like a Star Wars trailer until the chair turns around with Dr Evil in the Emperor's spot.

I think this is more a deleted scene that was included in the trailer, but that final joke in the Major League trailer is still the best one they shot.

I remember that trailer specifically for "If you see one movie this Summer. See Star Wars."

I seem to recall that the Kevin Costner Robin Hood movie had a POV shot of an arrow being fired from a bow that was filmed specifically for the trailer.
The shot was so popular with audiences that it was incorporated into the film.

Thanks for all of the replies. Most of those trailers listed I wasn't familiar with. Thanks again.

The trailer for THE BIG SLEEP (1946) opens with Humphrey Bogart as himself entering a public library in Beverly Hills and asking the pretty girl behind the counter to recommend a good hard-boiled novel, the idea being that he's looking for movie material and a good role for himself. She recommends Raymond Chandler's "The Big Sleep" and he goes home to read it and then we see scenes from the movie.

I found this trailer for Batman: The Movie (1966):
Does anyone know if this trailer was actually shown in movie theaters, or just on TV? Thanks to anyone that replies.

I always assumed that the majority of the time, trailer editors have a certain amount of shots they can pick from, and sometimes they're alternate takes or shots that don't make it into the final edit.

Last Action Hero teaser where Arnold steps out of a truck with a huge gun, turns to the audience and tells us that the movie comes out next summer.
Hook teaser with the camera panning over a treasure map with the cast members, Spielberg and the title printed on it.
Chris Rock in that Lethal Weapon 4 teaser: "Hi, I'm Mel Gibson! Yeah I look a little different... but it's the same ol' Mel!"
Peter Jackson's King Kong teaser with that entire scene on the beach in broad daylight where everyone hears Kong screaming before they've even met the island natives.
Titanic teaser with Old Rose (Gloria Stewart) in her room reminiscing. This was briefly shown in theatres more than a year before the release and seems impossible to find anywhere.
Original Back to the Future teaser with Fox taking off in the DeLorean.
Jurassic Park teaser with footage of the amber dig and a scientist studying the fossilized mosquito.

Teasers are often the ones to have original footage, because they're sometimes made before any actual film footage has been shot, or at least before there's enough to make a coherent trailer.

Strange Days Teaser has a specially filmed version of a monologue from the film:

I found a thread on another site that lists some more trailers with "original footage":

While not quite "trailers," some films in recent times have released promo videos with original footage set in the same "universe" as the movie. For example, the "Ares Live" mockumentaries made for The Martian:

Also, the "River Tam Sessions" for the film Serenity, available here in a supercut:

I just thought of all the Pixar teasers that use exclusive footage. Basically all of their films after the original Toy Story has had a teaser with exclusive footage.

Monsters Inc took it a step further and had a trailer specifically to run in front of Harry Potter.
