This will be one of "those episodes" for non-readers.

Sorry, I know it's so exhilarating to be "the guy" who created the thread. I guess I can understand the missing of a few details in your rapturous haste to carve your name into history.

Knowing what happens in the books...

Spoiler:
...I'm looking forward to and yet dreading seeing what will happen in this episode, much the same as I felt before the Red Wedding episode a year ago.

Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! I haven't ready any spoilers in this thread, but you guys posting comments are making me more anxious about the episode.

And oh yeah, my first "live" episode after marathoning the show.

Same here.

Spoiler:
The series is free to deviate, but seems hell bent on making sure all of the moments that piss people off remain in tact.

I doubt that. I'm going to skip this one and wait for next week, because typically Episode 9 is when the shit hits the fan.

Wait ... there are books? Is this one of those cheap tie-ins, like when they made those Daniel Radcliffe movies into books?

That was quite a gruesome way to go. That episode went quick..didn't help I was getting some rain fade on directv with a storm passing by.

Could have done without most of the episode.. Blah.. Dany's area with the Unsullied and her attendant bathing.... stuff in Mole Town..... Moat Cailin.

Best parts of the episode were Dany holding court with her dismissal of Jorah. Sansa's testimony to the council in the Vale... and then the combat, of course... I remember it being described brutally in the book.. the depiction on screen did it justice and more.

Welp, didn't see that coming. Wasn't even sure we'd get the whole battle since they waited so long into the episode. I think I have post-traumatic stress disorder after seeing that fight.

Unfortunately, the ending was pretty much spoiled for me in the previous episode thread here by someone basically giving it away outside of spoiler tags.....arghhhh.

Why do they keep teasing us with a reunion of two Starks? I would ask if the books ever deliver on that point but I really don't want to know the answer until I see it on screen.

Well that was about the most horrifying thing I've seen on television.

I wonder how much fun they had seeing how gruesome they could make it.. It was pretty brutal watching the eyes get clawed and pushed in.. then you had the whole skull "pop" and saw the bloody/hamburger aftermath on the ground...
