I thought the remake would be more faithful to the manga than the original series. I don't think it was ever announced as 1:1 adaptation?

I believe you are right. Still weird to see them jump ahead so fast. Makes me wonder how long they intend to keep this new series going.

I'm still okay with the pace. The further the series goes, the less I remember from the original series. It will definitely be interesting to see how far they will go with this remake.

And now I am confused again. I am watching the latest episode and Tatewaki is unaware that Ranma is "the pigtailed girl". You'd think news of that fact would have reached his ears by now. Are the season 2 episodes being aired out of order?

Also, P Chan is back. So Ryoga is bound to appear in his human form. I was glad he was completely absent (even as P Chan) during the last few episodes. I really hate that guy (in both series).

Back when season 1 aired, I tried going back to the original series. Although still enjoyable overall, the pacing is sluggish. The new show definitely has the original beat in that department. (I also prefer the new animation and tweaks to the character designs, although most fans my age disagree.)

I don't think Tatewaki Kuno ever figured out Ranma = pigtailed girl. I'm pretty sure it was like that with the original series. I always thought of him as the idiotic comedic character.

As for the order of the series, I don't remember enough to compare both series.

That's right, Kuno and Akane never figured it out for obvious comedic reasons (plus Ryouga would basically become a completely different character). Much later we meet Ranma's mom and this ridiculousness continues.

It does seem like they are speed rushing the character reveals but I haven't read the manga in ages and I know the anime had problems with order and filler. I'm actually not sure I like it that much even though I really like characters like Mousse and Ukyo.

It's funny to see how my tastes have changed. Back in the '90s, I found Happosai hilarious. Nowadays, I found myself wishing Ranma didn't feel bad for the old guy, and leave him condemned. Although I did love it when Akane kicked his ass whilst she was asleep.

Gotta love how much of an asshole Ranma's dad is. Especially how he justified stealing the cart and ditching the fiancée little Ranma didn't even know he had. But I totally forgot Ranma poured hot water on Ukyo. He really did think she was a boy.

Season 2 concluded today. Season 3 hasn't been announced yet. Will there be a Season 3? There is some sort of major announcement planned in March. We just have to wait and see if it's about Season 3 or not.


"Ranma 1/2" Season 2 #24 Ending Movie

I've yet to watch the last episode, but this season just flew by. I hope there's a third since this has been a delight. I also hope there is a physical release box set once the show does eventually conclude.

Season 2 was enjoyable like Season 1. Anime series going past a couple seasons is no longer assured nowadays. I do hope we do eventually get a Season 3.

Any potential physical release here is probably VIZ Media or no one else.

I just watched the last episode. It kind of reminded me how the original series ended, but on a smaller scale. If it ends here, it's not a bad place to stop, but I would be lying if I said I wouldn't be upset. I just want more of these characters and this world.

Great news!

After having watched the Netflix teaser, is there also a movie this season? Not just because of the scope aspect ratio during the bulk of the teaser,but also because the scope scenes had a different artwork/animation style from the final part of the teaser.

They haven't announced a movie. As for the artwork/animation style, it may have to do with Atsuko Ishida getting added the main animation team. She worked on the original Ranma franchise and her style typically has the 90's vibe.

Interesting. I liked the style of the first two seasons, but can't deny I like what I see in that teaser.

This is my favorite arc too. Animation looks awesome.
