So the remaining Funimation streaming users have now migrated to Crunchyroll starting a couple days ago. My service has gone a bit downhill since.

In other news, pick up any Funimation Blu-ray you possible want before they go out of print. It's widely assumed Crunchyroll has no intentions of reprinting most or all of them. Whatever stock remains is probably it for dozens/hundreds of titles.

Yep. Anything and everything with a Funimation logo should be considered out of print (or to be OOP in the near future). Very few Funimation titles are getting re-released under Crunchyroll. Other Crunchyroll distributed titles released from Anime Limited, Discotek Media, Sentai Filmworks, and VIZ Media will eventually be OOP in the future as well (if not already).

On the streaming side, we still have many Funimation titles that never ported over to Crunchyroll (likely due to contract language). It's very possible most of these titles remain orphaned.

We will have plenty of titles that will be OOP and also not available for streaming.

Unfortunately the current Crunchyroll regime is becoming more and more anti home video releases. They're releasing fewer titles on home video despite licensing more titles. They are also no longer allowing other companies to distribute/re-distribute their released/unreleased titles.

It just sets bad precedent. What if others (like Sony) decide to be more like this in the future?

Hollywood loves recurring revenue streams (read "streaming") over selling physical media they can't control once it's in the hands of consumers.

I suspect the North American anime market will increasingly resemble the domestic Japanese market with outrageous BD prices.
