Re: FREE Legal Streaming Anime Master List
Got the Paid iPad app ($10) and signed up for the Elite Membership ($8/month). Played around with it for about 10 minutes, and the app crashed twice. So it's still really buggy. Hopefully they'll get that fixed.
On the positive side, it works really well with Airplay. I was able to stream shows to my TV through the AppleTV. The video quality was pretty decent on my 60-inch Plasma.
Looking forward to the upcoming Roku app. I hope it's not as glitchy as the iPad app.

Watch All the Anime You Want with Crunchyroll on PS3
::: clipped portion from the article :::
Crunchyroll on PS3 currently only supports up to 480p, which Gao explained to me was a fairly standard resolution for anime, as it’s more expensive to produce shows in higher quality. So even at 480p, most anime will be viewable on PS3 in its native resolution, though that will still fluctuate depending on the shows you’re interested in.

Re: FREE Legal Streaming Anime Master List
Crunchyroll is only streaming 480p to the Roku too. That crap about "fairly standard resolution" is a cop-out. People have been begging for HD on the support forum for over a year. They originally announced 720p streaming for the Roku back in January 2011. Since then, they just keep saying "we're working on it". Hopefully this PS3 app will bring a huge load of new customers that will start harassing them for HD streaming.
Anyways, the 480p looks decent. It's animation, so you don't really notice it as much as you would on a live action show. I just wish the set-up box streaming got the same quality as the website.

Re: FREE Legal Streaming Anime Master List
Well it is true that a lot of the shows are not animated in HD actually, at least for shows that have been long running such as Fairy Tail, Naruto Shippuuden, Bleach, etc. However there are a lot of shows being animated in HD as well the past few years.

Hey everyone, it's Tiffany again! Today I'm excited to announce the launch of a new short film called "Traveling Daru", created by the same staff behind Makoto Shinkai's "5 Centimeters per Second" and "The Place Promised in Our Early Days". This heartwarming piece tells the story of Daru, a handmade stuffed toy, who goes on a journey searching for its owner after they get separated at the airport. Despite the very limited dialogue, the music and smooth animation is more than enough to convey the emotions and feelings of the story, and I will admit, I found myself choking up at more than one point during the film. Don't be fooled by the child-like art style and simple plot; "Traveling Daru" is a wonderfully told tale that appeals to both adults and children alike, and at 10 minutes and 30 seconds, it's easily viewable in one sitting.
Traveling Daru will launch TONIGHT, August 6, at 6pm (PDT), available to both Free and Premium users, so don't take my word for it, go check it out for yourselves!
Synopsis:
Daru, a cherished handmade stuffed toy, gets lost and separated from its owner one day when at the airport. Determined to find her again, Daru sets out on a journey around the world in search of her. As time passes, the girl begins to forget about Daru. Will Daru be able to find and see its beloved owner again?
For those interested in extra content and supporting the creators, you can purchase the region-free DVD version here at Amazon.co.jp!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HOUSTON, August 29, 2012 — Sentai Filmworks’ is pleased to announce their latest acquisition: Love, Elections & Chocolate. With series composition by Katsuhiko Takayama (ef ~ a tale of memories., And Yet the Town Moves), this series is sure to have the right recipe to win at the polls, and to complete the ticket, music by Elements Garden (Bodacious Space Pirates) and character designs by Hiroaki Gohda (Amagami SS, Please Teacher!) add the icing that tops it all off.
In Japan, participation in extra-curricular activities is as fundamental a part of an education as chalk and gym shorts. However, not all students are overachievers, and for those like Yuki Ojima, groups like the Food Research Club are welcome havens in which to slack-off. But what’s a slacker to do when the radical new candidate for Student Council president announces her intent to get rid of clubs like the FRC? Well, getting the help of the current Student Council president is a good start, but HIS suggestion is so counter-intuitive that it’s crazy: Yuki should run for the Student Council himself? And yet, it’s SO crazy that it just might work! Especially when Chisato, the chocolate-adverse president of the FRC (and Yuki’s best childhood friend,) and members of other targeted school clubs start to join the swelling FRC army. But can this army of goofs and goof-offs coast all the way to political victory? Or will someone have to step up to the plate and take one for the term? They may savor victory, they may taste defeat, but you’re certain to eat up LOVE, ELECTIONS & CHOCOLATE!
Love, Elections & Chocolate will soon be available through select digital outlets.
About Sentai Filmworks:
