Sentai Filmworks Gets Loud With “Anonymous Noise”

HOUSTON, MARCH 15, 2017 – Sentai Filmworks rocks it out with their latest acquisition, Anonymous Noise! Based on the manga written by Ryoko Fukuyama and currently running in the bimonthly comic anthology Hana to Yume, Anonymous Noise is an exciting addition to Sentai’s Spring 2017 anime lineup!

Blessed with a beautiful voice, Nino only sings for one reason: to be found. Nino finds herself looking for two boys who left her without reason, Momo and Yuzu. By chance, all three of them end up in the same high school, and Nino discovers that her singing isn’t in vain. As they rediscover their bonds, the group realizes that time changes many things, and sometimes certain things can’t be repaired.

The series will be directed by Hideya Takahashi (Keijo!!!!!!!!), with sound direction by Takayuki Yamaguchi (Matoi the Sacred Slayer), and series composition by Deko Akao (Flying Witch, Urara Meirocho). Studio Colorido’s “Typhoon Noruda” Hits Sentai Filmworks

HOUSTON, MARCH 16, 2017 – Sentai Filmworks is inviting you to ride out the storm in Studio Colorido’s fantasy adventure, Typhoon Noruda. The film, helmed by first-time director and former Studio Ghibli animator Yojiro Arai, features character designs by Hiroyasu Ishida and music by Masashi Hamauzu (ClassicaLoid, Final Fantasy X).

The film takes place in a middle school on a remote island. Shuichi Azuma, a dedicated student, suddenly quits the baseball team, which leads to a fight with his best friend, Kenta. When a storm hits their school one day, Shuichi meets Noruda, a mysterious girl with a strange necklace, who seems to be somehow connected with the typhoon. Who is she? More importantly, why does Shuichi feel the need to help her?

Sentai Filmworks Licenses Rumiko Takashi’s RIN-NE 3

HOUSTON, MARCH 16, 2017 – Get ready to ride the Wheel of Reincarnation once more in Sentai Filmworks’ latest addition to the Spring 2017 anime lineup: RIN-NE 3. Rinne Rokudo, Rokumon, and Sakura Mamiya are back for more misadventures in a story that pairs school life with the afterlife.

Saving lost souls on the tightest budget known to man is only a day’s work for half-human, half-Shinigami kind-of-thing Rinne! Together with the almost too-collected Sakura and his black cat Rokumon, life continues as normal as Rinne helps guide the dead to their final rest. However, new transfers are never a good sign, and a popular fortune teller ends up at Rinne and Sakura’s school as their new teacher. Things get chaotic when a strange girl wielding a scythe makes an appearance, and Rinne realizes that he might discover a major piece surrounding the mystery of his past.

Based on the original manga by famed manga-ka Rumiko Takahashi (Inuyasha, Maison Ikkoku, Ranma ½), the series will be directed by Hiroshi Ishiodori (RIN-NE; Kiss Him, Not Me). HOUSTON, MARCH 30, 2017 – Sentai Filmworks unboxes their newest acquisition for the Spring 2017 anime simulcast season, Frame Arms Girl, inspired by the popular Frame Arms model kit series!

Ao Gennai, an ordinary high school girl, opens a package that was mistakenly delivered to her house. To her surprise, what lies within is a a small robot named Gourai, a Frame Arms Girl with an evolving personality. Ao discovers that Gourai is actually a newly developed prototype, and that she is the first person to activate her. Follow Ao’s antics as she learns the ups and downs of being Gourai’s owner ... which will include putting her into competitive fights!

The series will be directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation), with sound direction by Satoki Iida (Persona 4: The Animation, Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga) and series composition overseen by Deko Akao (Anonymous Noise, Flying Witch). After a great calamity in Japan, the world needed a hero: but did this hero need to be a god? Or a friend? Almost half the population of the town of Sakurada possess special abilities. Misora Haruki has the power to reset time for a maximum of three days into the past; Kei Asai has a photographic memory that allows him to remember everything he sees and hears, even after Misora resets time. Together, they use their powers to help others … except that two years ago, their actions caused the death of former classmate Sumire Sora, a girl who shouldn’t have died. At a talk show event at Anime Boston last weekend, BONES president and producer Masahiko Minami revealed that the first anime film in the new Eureka Seven trilogy will open this fall in Japan as well as in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. Minami added that BONES also plans to open the film in other countries "simultaneously." Minami confirmed that Funimation is in charge of the North American release.

Bandai Visual Co., Ltd., a leader in the development and production of Japanese animation, announced at Anime Boston, the largest anime convention in the Northeast United States, that the newest project of the Eureka Seven franchise is now under production. This new project, in conjunction with animation studio BONES, is the 3-part movie entitled Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution

Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution Releases

It has been almost 12 years since the original TV series came out. The new movie will capture the story of Eureka and Renton. At Anime Boston, Chief Producer Masahiko Minami of the project (also the President of animation studio BONES), announced that Part 1 of the trilogy will be released in theaters this coming fall 2017 in Japan. Part 2 and Part 3 will be released in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Overseas releases in territories such as US, Australia, UK, France, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand are also planned. Also during the panel, Minami showed new setting and character art featuring Hammer Head, Devil Fish, Eureka, Adrock, and Nirvash. Funimation will handle the US release. Further details regarding “Eureka Seven: Hi Evolution” will be announced shortly.

Synopsis

Ten years ago, the major earth-shaking “First Summer of Love” event occurred. HOUSTON, APRIL 4, 2017 – Sentai Filmworks is proud to announce the North American release of Kyoto Animation’s Beyond the Boundary films to home video. Both parts of the 2015 theatrical saga, Beyond the Boundary -I'LL BE HERE-: Past and Beyond the Boundary -I'LL BE HERE-: Future, will be released in the summer of 2017 on DVD and Blu-ray.

The first movie, Beyond the Boundary -I'LL BE HERE-: Past, is a re-telling of the original 2013 anime series, recounting the events surrounding bespectacled beauty Mirai Kuriyama and an immortal, half-human boy named Akihito Kanbara. As a Spirit World warrior, Mirai uses the rare gift (and curse) that is using her blood as a weapon to slay supernatural monsters known as youmu.

The second film, Beyond the Boundary -I'LL BE HERE-: Future, occurs one year after the events of the original series. Mirai has lost her memories, and Akihito separates himself from her in an attempt to protect her from her painful past. Despite the heartache it brings him, Akihito is determined to protect Mirai's happiness as she moves through life as a normal human being - but when dark forces stir, she may be forced back to the front lines in the fight against the youmu, and re-open the wounds of her past.

The movie is a fresh retelling of the original Love, Chunibyo, & Other Delusions TV series, told from the point of view of the Tyrant Eye herself, Rikka Takanashi.

Chunibyo, an “ailment” of flights of fancy or perceived grandeur, can often strike Japanese youth in middle school, but for high-schooler Rikka Takanashi, her battles against supernatural forces are very real. In this retelling of the original TV series, the spunky and fearless (but often clueless) RIkka brings us her own spin on the saga between herself and the former “Dark Flame Master,” Yuta Togashi.

Helmed by Tamako Market director Naoko Yamada (K-ON!, A Silent Voice), Tamako-love story- is an all-new tale that takes place after the events of the original television series.

Mochizo Oji, the son of a mochi (rice cake) shop owner, is just as lovelorn as ever as he continues to pine for his first love, Tamako Kitashirakawa. Based on the light novel series by Yuuri Eda, this story follows one teenager's attempts to take a 17th-century art form and make it cool again. Unlike other kids his age, freshman Kurogo Kurusu finds his true passion in kabuki, a form of classical Japanese dance theatre. When he finds out his school doesn’t have a club dedicated to it, he enlists the help of his best friend Tonbo to make one. They'll need at least five members to get things started, however, and together they'll have to win over an unlikely roster that includes stage actors, martial artists, and band members who aren't into kabuki at all.

Kazuhiro Yoneda (Hozuki no Reitetsu, Yona of the Dawn) served as the series director, with acclaimed artist group CLAMP (Cardcaptor Sakura) providing character designs. Animation was by Studio DEEN (Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!)

The series will soon be available to stream exclusively in the U.S. on Anime Strike, the curated on-demand anime subscription from Amazon Channels, for the Spring 2017 simulcast season with a home video release to follow. Anime Strike subscribers will be able to stream new episodes every Friday starting April 7.
