Amazing Nurse Nanako getting released by Media Blasters.

Media Blasters confirmed with ANN on Friday that it has licensed the Amazing Nurse Nanako original video anime (OVA) after teasing an image of an original DVD released by the defunct Geneon Entertainment. The company is planning to release the anime on Blu-ray Disc. There is no release date set yet.

Media Blasters is gathering video sources to ensure the best quality possible. The company aims to include everything from past releases.

GKIDS, the Academy Award®- winning producer and distributor of acclaimed and artist-driven animation from around the world, announced today it has acquired all rights for North America to the theatrical film COLORFUL STAGE! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing. GKIDS will release the new feature in North American theaters starting April 11, 2025.

The feature is based on “HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE!,” the globally popular rhythm game featuring the iconic character Hatsune Miku. First released in 2020, “HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE!” has become a global smash hit, reaching over 10 million global users in just two years after its release.



The film is an all-new story featuring both original characters and the beloved virtual singers from the game. The story follows Hoshino Ichika, a high school musician who encounters a version of Hatsune Miku who is not able to sing, and asks for help to reach others through her music. In addition to the original characters to the film, the movie also features the main cast and Virtual Singer performers of the original game, with the voice cast of the original game returning to their respective roles for the film.

COLORFUL STAGE! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing features a theme song “Hajimari no Mirai” by 40mP and sasakure.UK featuring vocals by Hatsune Miku, and an ending song “Worlders” by Jin, along with an arrangement of the ending song by the wildly popular producer TeddyLoid, which will be sung by all 26 characters of the original game.

COLORFUL STAGE! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing was released domestically in Japan on January 17th, and debuted #2 at the box office, earning over 570 million yen.

The deal was negotiated between GKIDS and CyberAgent, marking the first collaboration between the two companies.

This Japanese cult classic film will then make its streaming debut on both platforms later this year. A seminal work in horror anime film released in 1985, Vampire Hunter D is the OVA (“original video animation”) adaptation directed by Toyoo Ashida and based on the best-selling novel series by Hideyuki Kikuchi. As part of today’s announcement, HIDIVE unveiled the special 40th anniversary Vampire Hunter D key art and theatrical trailer created for the film’s re-release.

“In 1985, Vampire Hunter D cemented its place in cinematic history as a truly genre-defining work of horror,” said John Ledford, President of HIDIVE. “We’re thrilled to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vampire Hunter D and partner with both Shudder and Iconic Events Releasing to bring this seminal film to both horror and anime fans across the U.S. and Canada.”

HIDIVE and Shudder will present a digitally remastered version of the original Vampire Hunter D OVA that was produced by Sentai Filmworks in 2015. Vampire Hunter D is the final film joining AX Cinema Nights’ previously announced line-up and will close-out the film series’ 2024/2025 Season. Iconic Events Releasing will screen the movie in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dub at over 500 North American cinemas on April 9 (English sub), 10 (English dub) & 13 (encore dub screening).
