Re: B-Movie/Exploitation/Drive-In Movie Challenge
I'm also less attached to the bonus/demerit system. I tested out my tolerance for bad movies during the Horror Challenge and decided that no one would go out of their way to torture themselves. Those of you that do, more power to you. So, MST3K is fully allowed. Commentaries are fully allowed. There is no Clint Eastwood rule for really good movies in a trash genre. You can watch Bruce Lee AND Bruce Li with no penalties or bonuses.
What I do want to come up with is a list of Studios, actors, directors, writers, etc., that their mere presence in a film makes it what we are looking for.

Would some or all of the movies in this set count? (I'm thinking The Incredible Shrinking Man probably won't, but I'm hoping maybe the others will) I got the set for Christmas, and if it'll count, I'll hold off on watching it for now.

I'd never tell anyone they couldn't count it, but yeah, Shrinking Man is the class of that set, so I personally wouldn't count it. Everything else on that would be good.

Re: B-Movie/Exploitation/Drive-In Movie Challenge
I think we might have discussed an exception for any film seen in an actual drive-in. Since no drive-in actually shows "drive-in" movies anymore, we have to count the venue regardless of what movie was seen there. Hopefully there will be drive-ins open in April. I was just checking and our local drive-in says it will open in April.
The Rob Zombie movies are all pastiches of "Drive-in" movies, so I don't see why they shouldn't count. The same goes for Quentin Tarantino flicks. All of his films are glorified drive-in movies. They get a lot of attention, but they are relatively lowbudget B pictures. If you watch 100 of these flicks, I can't see any issue with a half dozen Rob Zombie and QT films thrown in.

Re: B-Movie/Exploitation/Drive-In Movie Challenge
I think QT's films (Especially his last 3....And a half) can qualify.
Just be sure to watch any of these movies beforehand:
Karate Bear Fighter
The Big Gundown
Three Tough Guys
Cat o'nine tails
Navajo Joe
Revolver
Lady Snowblood
The Psychic (Seven Notes in Black)
Truck Turner
Death Rides a Horse
White Lightning
The Mercenary (A Professional Gun)
Female Prisoner #701-Scorpion
Roma A Mano Armata (The Tough Ones)
Black Mama, White Mama
The Bird with the Crystal Plumage
Thunder Alley
Five Fingers of Death (King Boxer)
Summertime Killer
Devil's Angels
The Grand Duel
Eight Diagram Pole Fighter (Invincible Pole Fighter)
The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh
Slaughter
...So the music themes in Kill Bill,Death Proof, and Basterds will ring a bell.

And Jackie Brown is his "Jack Hill" flick. It's based upon a caper novel, but he altered it to be a tribute to Jack Hill's films. It even has Sid Haig. Reservoir Dogs is a low budget independent film that harkens back to B movie Heist films. Pulp Fiction is disqualified since it was nominated for Best Picture. Or maybe not. There might be a Quentin Tarantino exception. Oscar noms or not, his films are tributes to the genres we are watching.
