I read that it was going to have backstage storylines.

Backstage storylines. Ugh. Please don't make it like the WWE.

Isn't that what Battle Dome wanted to be?

Hard to take Terry Crews (dad on Everyone Hate Chris) seriously when every time I see him I think "It's T-Money!!!"

I hink it is going to be more along the lines of the competitors' background, rather than made-up feuds.

I hope the women gladiators look like women and not men (like China).

And now I wish ESPN Classic wasn't taken off my basic cable plan.

This problem with having models as female Gladiators, is that the competitors would run right over them. Lace was the smallest of the old school school Gladiators, and she would get the crap knocked out her every episode. But Ice and Zap would deliver regular beat downs.

Yeah, as much as I'd like to see eye candy, the contestants they got on the original were pretty athletic (and butch I might add ) and I assume they would be here, so it would be kind of ridiculous to have model-actress-types as female gladiators.

I loved the original and was a fan of it from the beginning, even before it became successful. At the risk of getting flamed, I feel certain that this new one is going to suck. Yes, I'm saying it before seeing it, that's how sure I am.

They better bring back that weak air-cannon thing in Assault that everyone sucked at too.

I was okay with the original girls. I don't remember any of them looking manlike. They can be muscular, but they need to look feminine as well.

Exactly... Hopefully this will be pretty good, but not holding my breath. Loved the original when I was younger.

Speaking of Cox, John C. McGinley, who plays Dr. Cox on Scrubs, was on a celebrity episode of American Gladiators. No idea which one.
