Locke - 3/5
Due to one bad decision, the life of a hard working well to do family man starts falling apart during a 90 minute drive. Enjoyed the first half and then grew tired of the concept as it drifted in too many directions. Worth watching for Tom Hardy's great performance.

The Drop - 4.5/5
When a bar in Brooklyn that is used to drop off money for the Chechen mob is robbed, the two cousins who run it become responsible for getting the money back to its owners. Excellent tension filled noirish film with a great cast, especially Tom Hardy, James Gandolfini & Matthias Schoenaerts.

Inception (2010) - I enjoyed this movie, though still found it to be a tad overrated. Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy is better, but as sci-fi actioners go it was pretty entertaining.

Peeping Tom - 5/5
After being experimented on as a child by his psychologist father, a young man becomes obsessed with voyeurism and violence. A landmark controversial film which was despised upon its released in 1960 and is now appreciated for the masterpiece that it is.

Falcon Rising starring Michael Jai White. It's available on demand. I watched it on XBox video. Awesome martial arts flick. I'd give it a solid B+ I would definitely recommend it if you're a fan of MJW.

The Bride Wore Black - 1968 French New Wave flic by Truffaut about a woman getting revenge on the men who killed her husband. Heavily influenced by Hitchcock, it also appears to have been a big influence on Kill Bill, though Tarantino has claimed in the past he hasn't seen it. Watch the film and you won't be so sure. Excellent.

Magnolia
I'd avoided the films of PTA for a long time, so seeing this fifteen years after it was released was kind of a revelation. I'm thankful I never read anything about the climax, as it was such a glorious "WTF" moment.

Divergent - wow, I actually enjoyed this film a heck of a lot more than I thought I would (I have not read the books).

Across 110th Street - 4/5
Gritty urban crime drama about two cops (one a straight-as-an-arrow young black, the other a corrupt older white) who are assigned to find the men who massacred 7 people while in the process of stealing $300,000 from a mob run operation in Harlem. They must try to find the perpetrators first before a group of mob assassins gets their hands on them. Good film that examines the tense relations between the police, organized crime and the black community.

3 Women - My first Robert Altman movie. Compelling ideas dealing with merging identities, but the ending was a real head scratcher -- which says a lot considering what came before. It's open to interpretation... but I'm not sure it worked for me.

Dime a dozen revenge movie from the 80s. Although not much revenge occurs until about the last 15 mins...disappointing. Mainly watched it to see 80s L.A./Hollywood Blvd...kinda still looks the same
