Moebius (2013)
Bat-shit insane and (at times) hilarious. I really enjoyed this one.

Nightmare City (1980)
I always forget to get myself drunk before I fire this one up.
La Horde (2009)
Solid Action/Zombie flick. First hour is great but the last thirty minutes get bogged down by sub-plots and the characters attached to them.

Contracted (2009)
As an overall film it's far from perfect. As a Body-Horror film, it nails everything I love about the genre. The visual gags are so good. Lead is solid and the film is beautiful to look at.

Dead Snow 2: Red Vs. Dead (2014)
Ten times more gory and ten times more ridiculous than the previous film.

I have deep-seated body horror fears, I think I should star far, far, far away.
Someone made a film about my life
?
The Mask of Zorro- Somewhat disjointed but immensely entertaining throwback to old Hollywood swashbucklers with great performances from Banderas and especially Hopkins. Apparently the film went over budget and the production was somewhat chaotic, and it shows in the occasionally scattershot screenplay, but the action sequences are genuinely dazzling, the film is handsomely designed, and directed with great energy and style. Self-aware enough without annoyingly postmodern winking at the audience, and blends humor and melodrama to great effect. Good fun.
War- Utterly pointless waste of the incredible combo of Jet Li Lian-Jie, Corey Yuen Kwai, and Jason Statham. Piss-poor editing ruins most of the action sequences and choreography, the plot is like direct-to-video fare of the era and collapses under an utterly idiotic last-act twist, and the direction is so flat that even TV episodes seem comparatively dynamic. Dull, and a waste of the potential top-tier action talent who formed the draw for it in the first place.
Drive- Now THAT'S more like it! Why exactly this was shot on Super 35 in 2.35 scope in the golden age of DTV martial arts flicks I don't know, and the budget occasionally shows, but more often than not, director Steve Wang and fight coordinator Koichi Sakamoto squeeze lots of mileage out of it, and the film is one knockout set piece after another. Sakamoto and his team of Alpha Stunts, back when they were all together, were log time veterans of the Power Rangers franchise going forward during its very best era, and they get the spirt of Hong Kong action better than many directors with far more money to burn. Marc Dacascos is a nimble and exciting action presence, every action scene is excellent, and the jokes are actually funny. The proverbial diamond in the rough among DTV martial arts junk, it's damn, damn good.

Shiver - 1.5/5
A boy and his mother move from the city to an area in the country where there is less sunlight. The reason for this is because the boy has a bad skin condition. Once there people start turning up dead and the boy becomes the prime suspect. The film is good with style and atmosphere, but once we found out what's really happening, the ridiculous story ruins the entire experience.

Not all what I expected. Billed as a comedy caper, there was a little dark comedy, but it has a very serious tone and elements. Jennifer Anniston who is criticized for her limited range really was the highlight of this movie with a tremendous performance as the put-upon, kidnapped housewife.

Birth (2004)— The only Jonathan Glazer movie I hadn't seen, and wow! I was blown away by this one. Given its controversial nature, I'm surprised I haven't heard more about it previously. Glazer has cemented himself among my favorite active directors.

Wild - 3/5
Based on a true story of a woman on a path of self-destruction who decides to hike the Pacific Crest Trail in order to exorcise her inner demons.
Not a great film, but worth watching for Reese Witherspoon's and Laura Dern's good performances.

Thats the one where the rich guy banging hot blonds gets a glimpse of his life as a middle class blue collar schlub working and bowling in NJ. then for some reason he thinks that being rich, single and banging hot blonds is a bad thing. SHIT. I wish Don Cheedle would have given me that glimpse before I got married.

Child of God - 3/5
A mentally unstable man descends deeper into madness and savagery when he looses his home. On his own with nowhere to go he does whatever it takes in his twisted mind to survive and fulfill his basest needs. An uneven disturbing film that has its moments, with a brilliant performance by Scott Haze.
