It was an announcement for the new Panic Room. Now that you're on the mailing list, you'll get new announcements every once in a while.

I'm kinda curious if any actually make it to store shelves in Japan. If so, will they be snapped up on the day of release, or is it just people from outside of Japan that are ordering all of these?

Can you tell me where you preordered this? My brother lives in Tokyo and I'm trying to find a shop where he can purchase this for me. Thanks!

exactly what is the running time for the Japanese version. IMDB eludes to:

Quentin Tarantino prepared a more graphic version of the film for Asian audiences. Only a few minutes longer, the film includes several extra violent moments, a longer animated sequence

I thought I had read somewhere that it's 113 minutes, two minutes longer than the American R-rated cut.

Secondly of the scenes that are in Japanese, will there be English subtitles?

From what I've heard about the Japanese release, you can choose English subtitles for the entire film (showing during both english and japanese sequences), or no subtitles.

The R3 should have proper subtitles.

jough,

Are you saying that the R3 will have the option to have English subtitles only on the Japanese speaking parts? If that's true, do you have any confirmation?

I'm not sure. The R3 isn't dubbed - so it should have the original English language track as well as Korean and English subtitles.

I'll have it in my hands in about two weeks, so I guess I'll find out then.

You should cancel it. You could always order it later, since it isn't a LE.

So because it isn't dubbed it will have english subtitles only over the japanese parts? I do not see how you can come to that conclusion, could you elaborate? Not that it really matters, I am picking up the R2 and R1 releases, just curious.

The Koreans will not experience the same subtitling issue as both English and Japanese are foreign languages as far as they are concerned, so their subtitles will run the length of the film regardless. And I doubt they will be providing English subtitles only over the Japanese segments... why should they go to that trouble?

I didn't come to that conclusion. YOU did. All I said was that the disc will have English subtitles. They'll probably run the entire length of the film, for the Japanese parts as well as the English parts.

The R3 is supposed to have more special features than the R1 or R2, though, unless the R1 really *does* have the on-again-off-again subtitle trivia track (that is not listed as a feature on anything official from the studio but somehow showed up in a feature list on several retailers).

You stated "The R3 should have proper subtitles."

What exactly does 'proper' subtitles mean, you couldn't be more vague. But whatever, go back to bitching about dvdprofiler.

jough,

Why don't you let us know where you ordered the R3 version? I'm pretty sure that a lot of people on this forum would be interested in the R3 if it has more special features, and because Korean dvds don't cost as much as Japanese dvds.

Check it out! KB boxset still available at sensasian.com. and it's only $82.99. A whole lot cheaper than the $209.99 that Yesasia is charging. I know there's a whole lot of you still looking for this!

I believe there is an R3 PAL from Thailand or something. I thought I read that somewhere here.

http://www.dvdfromasia.com/

I can't remember the other thread but someone who did pre-order got an e-mail saying it will not be released until April 16th also. It was supposed to have been released the last week of February.

As for Sensasian.com--I haven't dealt with them, so I don't know about their service, but if I were still looking for this set at a decent price I'd still pre-order it from them. And if you find out they suck you can always cancel it.
