I doubt the uncut version will ever touch US shores unless Miramax gets the stick out of their ass regarding unrated/NC-17 releases. In other words, don't count on it.

Now they could easily slide by their pathetic pathetic policy by including the uncut version as an option. Yet you don't see too many studios taking advantage of seamless branching,do you? A damn shame I can't play R2. Are there any other R0 releases that are uncut & NTSC?

I'm buying this. NO doubt about that.

as for julie's comment. You know, I really doubt that we WONT see the uncut version on the second release of the dvd that QT is putting out. But I wouldn't expect to see it on the first release of this come apirl. There is no doubt in my mind that it will be in the "ultimate edition" that will come later on.

If your thinking of getting this you should pre-order it now. Somel sites are already sold out. I know Amazon.co.jp still has it up for pre-order. Yesasia and HMV.co.jp. are already sold out.

Very true. QT has already said that there will be eventual various special editions available of this, so an uncut US edition is inevitable. Lets face it, marketing DVDs like this to people like us (well, me at least) is like shooting fish in a barrel, and they will milk various editions of this film as long as we keep buying them. They sure aren't going to give us all the goods the first time around though. And in the meantime, that Japanese box set is sooo mine.

That is some very elaborate packaging. That looks like an awesome set, but who knows, maybe the Ultimate Edition of the entire Kill Bill will be housed in some cool packaging similar. We can only hope...

So Universal is able to release Volume 1 uncut but Miramax isn't?

Kill is love! And I so love the Japanese. Still, I may go for the "regular" Japanese edition instead.

WHAAA?!?!?

I'm all over this boxset, despite the fact that I have no All-Region player. I want it purely for the extra crap that comes in that pretty little box. I even want two...one so I can sit it on my shelf to just look pretty, and the other so i can wear the kickass t-shirt, play with the lego Yakuza, and chase people with the mini-katana!! My biggest problem will be choosing which one of the two to open.

Cantonese? But that's a form of Chinese... you probably mean the Japanese speaking parts.

And that doesn't matter anyway, since it has English subtitles. You just have to switch them on and off, since they will be throughout the whole movie....or you could just memorize the lines.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I really need to go All-Region and this release might be the one to push me over the edge.

But, looks like it's selling out fast. I might have to hope/pray the R1 boxset will be cool.

Oh, and the red lettering on the t-shirt... is that Japanese for "geekboy"?

Accepted... but in my defense I've only seen the movie once (hanging head in shame) and didn't make the connection. I'm just very excited about Vol 1 on DVD and Vol 2 coming to theaters
