That game was sweet. I still remember the music! Did the updated version have the same music? Wow, I just found the theme on Napster! Sorry, back to the original topic of the thread.

I played through the entire 20 minutes, so I guess I did (it just wraps around the levels, you're just supposed to score the highest you can, which if you took a pic of the screen and sent it in, you'd get a Pitfall patch ).

I got the patch (and one for chopper command too). I remember going in the underground tunnels and following it for screen after screen only to hit a dead end.

Prince of Darkness

This is not a dream. We are using your brains electrical
system as a receiver. We are unable to transmit through
conscious neural interference. You are receiving this
broadcast as a dream. You are receiving this broadcast in
order to alter the events you are seeing. Our technology has
not developed a transmitter strong enough to reach your
conscious state of awareness, but this is not a dream.

Nice quote from one of my favorite movies, Trout

"I have a message for you..... You're not going to like it... Pray for death!

Actually if I remember correctly, there was a set number of gold bars, silver bars Etc. in the game, so that makes me think that there was an ending.

I got the Pitfall patch, River Raid patch, and the one from the sub marine game. Hands down, Activision made the best games for the 2600. No one else was close.

Your right, and yes I have beat it.

It was years ago though. When you collected all the bars the game ended

Hands back up. Activision didn't make Adventure, Yar's Revenge, Missile Command, Warlords, Indy 500, Asteroids, Raiders of the Lost Ark, or Combat, so I wouldn't say no one else was close. However, I will say that most of the people who created the greats for Atari ended up at Activision, so in a way these games were made by them.
