I was playing House of the Dead 2 last night and I was wondering if any game ever made had worse voice acting than HOD2. "G....is.....over......there" Arrrrgh pick up the tempo. It sounds like the actors took a bunch of cold medicine before recording their voices.

The original Resident Evil game had pretty bad voice acting.

I will have to agree with House of the Dead 2. We still occasionally quote from it.

Typically, we would let the zombies go through the towns and kick people (kicking people in HOTD2 = death) because it was hilarious.

Oh my, DEFINITELY Resident Evil.

What was that line about being the master of picking locks at the beginning?

No contest - Shenmue. Just because the game is dubbed in English, and it's terrible beyond horrible.

-"Do you remember that day?"
+"You mean the day of the incident?"
-"Yes, that day..."
+"The day the rain turned into snow?"
-"Yes, that day..."
+"Well, no...I don't remember much...just that the rain turned into snow."

Argghhhh! But I don't really consider the Resident Evil (Biohazard) series terrible, because that's how the game was originally recorded in Japan, and I think the "B-movie" acting was intentional.

My favorite line from Shenmue.

"I see."

Ryu only says it about 10,000 freaking times in the game.

Ooh! I forgot about Shenmue. Although SOTN is bad, only HOTD2 comes close to Shenmue.

If anyone saw the ending for Xenogears ... that needed some work. The voices acting is bad and the voices were COMPLETELY OFF with their lips moving. The lips moved and stopped, then you heard what was said.

I doubt it's the worst I've ever heard, but there are some genuinely humerous examples of voice acting in Shenmue. The best, by far, was the fortune teller: if you listen closely while she contemplates her crystal ball, she quite clearly says, "Harrumph." And I don't mean the sound that word is supposed to represent, i.e. a throat-clearing vocalization, she actually pronounces Ha-Rumf.

Hooked on Phonics: Special voice actors edition!

Speaking of Star Fox. In Star Fox 64 the pilot with the helium voice was super annoying. Can't remember the name though. Think it was a frog or something.

I can't believe no thought that RE wasn't the best! Especially when you come back from a prolonged encounter that would have driven Lovecraft insane and Barry says, "Are you OK, Jill?" and you're all, "Oh yes, I'm fine."
I just decided that I'm gonna go through and save before every dialogue scene so that I can sample that priceless dialogue track for some good laughs!

Bruce Campbell's voice acting in 'Evil Dead: Hail to the King' sucked as much as his regular acting in 'Jack of all Trades'

Resident Evil and Sonic Adventure spring immediately to mind as examples of horrendous voice 'acting'...

Particularly sad in the case of Sonic Adventure because otherwise it is a pretty good game. The music is godawful too though...

Resident Evil all the way
"Jill, why don't you, the master of unlocking, take this lockpick." --- Barry

The funniest one in the game:
"Hey Jill ........ Grab the Rope!" --- Barry
