THPS2 was tops on my list until PSO came out. Now that has taken over all my free time, it is such a blast. Also on my list of must haves is MVC2 and JGR. JGR is one of the most innovative games i've played in a very long time.

What are these decent games for the PS2? Are you still buying all the Sony marketing saying cool games are just around the corner?

I'll get a PS2 as soon as I see a game I want to play. Everytime I have gone to buy one I think about the 6-7 DC games or the 15 DVDs I can get for the same price.

Shenmue
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Jet Grind Radio

Currently playing Q*Bert and Dino Crisis

I would like to kill Sony. Here is why...

If it werent for X-Box, I would fear a video game depression like when the Atari died and pre-Nintendo

First we get the Dreamcast which, is (at least game wise, the most superior system on the market right now) Dreamcast is kicking ass for a little while. Sonly announces PS2 which is fine, sales slack on the DC and that is expected. PS2 is released no one can find one so... No one is buying videogames at all. N64 sales suck, Dreamcast is lower because everyone wants a PS2 (again, expected) and Sony's stock dips due to expense of hardware. and not meeting demand. There games suck as well. So now DC fans are screwed and they suffer, PS2 fans suffer as well cause the games are ass.

CompUSA got some PS2s in the other day and I bolted down there, then I realized, there was not one damn game I wanted to play. Walked out empty handed. I am really looking forward to Metal Gear Solid 2 though...when it comes out...in 2005...along with Episode III

The best thing the PS2 has going for it is the ability to play PS1 games. I have no interest in the Game Cube, and I have incredible interest in the X-Box, but for now it is just that, interest.

my top 3
soul calibur
nfl2k
test drive lemans

being a huge psx fan i too still see no game out yet that would have me dish out my hard earn bucks for it.
yeah theres a few good ones out.
but theres also alot of garbage, with jagged edges, sub par graphics, and unforgiving pop up.
but i'm talking gotta have, i see nothing other than maybe gt3 and even then i think i'm still going to wait till the next wave hits, buy then the price should drop.
but then again gamecube might get me back into nintendos corner.

I agree that this is pointless and I would argue that Powerstones was as fun for me as SC, and MvsC

Damn, the OP is a real ass. I still feel the DC was better hardware for the time. 4 ports for controllers, built in ethernet, vga graphics support, keyboard and mouse support for FPS games, superior controller design. Game selection started strong but Sony had the marketing power to crush this little console that could. I still have mine hooked up and it still gets more game time than my PS2.

Re: Dreamcast Owners Unite!

All I know is that it gave us the 2K series and the Crazy Taxi series and that's enough to elevate it in my mind.

Actually, built-in 56k modem, not ethernet.

Great console.

I loved my Dreamcast. Would the Xbox had made it in a market with both the PS2 and Dreamcast? Did Sega going under help xbox get that leg up?

Re: Dreamcast Owners Unite!

Yeah, at least with a few of the hardcore. I was interested in the new iteration of JSR, along with the Sega exclusives like Panzer Dragoon, and Gun Valkyrie.

That's a hell of a bump...8 years. Is that a record?

Re: Dreamcast Owners Unite!

Thanks - cool to see what I was playing 8 years ago.

Shenmue was one of the best gaming experiences I've had, though. Loved my DC, now it's tucked away in it's box in the back of a closet.

Re: Dreamcast Owners Unite!

Loved my Dreamcast. Great times with Shenmue - one of the first games that, even though it took forever, I ended up finishing it. Brings back some awesome memories.

Dreamcast never died. They still make games for it over in Japan. I think there's even a small homebrew community over here too.

Re: Dreamcast Owners Unite!

Surprised I never posted in this thread. I got mine 9/9/99 and thought it was great. Loved playing Phantasy Star Online, Chu Chu Rocket, the Powerstones and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Heck of a lot of fun all compacted into one system.

You're correct. I new it had some type of built in network connection. To some degree that port helped kill the system. I believe that was how the games were copied off the original disc and subsequently burned to bootable CDs, no mod chip required.
