Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment --> Switch 2 --> 11/6/25
pretty ok reviews, but I think I'm looking forward to this one for some strange reason. I haven't finished a Zelda game ever, but this 1 x 1000 sounds like a neat concept. I know it ties into the other Zelda games BotW and TotK, but I think it will stand alone enough for a beginner such as myself to enjoy.

There is already a Hyrule Warriors game out if you like the idea of the concept. This is the 2nd.

No, I know there are others, but thought I’d give this SW2 version a go and then I’ll see about Calamity. I actually have Calamity and the Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition. Haven't played yet, of course, but we shall see.

Buy a game. Don’t play it. Read reviews about the sequel. Assume you’ll like it. Buy the sequel. That makes perfect sense in Oldboy terms.

It’s actually “OldBoy”.

I just don’t think there’s much to discuss about any Warriors game, besides the frame rate. It’s just hack and slash hundreds of enemies. It’s pretty repetitive gameplay, in every one I’ve tried at least.
Wouldn’t you rather play the mainline Zelda games that you bought (and upgraded) first, rather than purchase this deep dive into the far corners of the mythology those games referenced?

... we have the other two Dynasty Warrior inspired Zelda games. I don't like playing them, but I enjoy watching my kids play them and watch the lore unfold.

that's not a bad idea, but of course that would take me at least a year if I decided to jump into one of those. I think I already started and was liking BotW before I got sidetracked to another game. We shall see. No biggie.

Also, do you enjoy Warriors style gameplay? Because I sure don't. It's nothing like a Zelda style of gameplay.
