One thing I find surprising is that they didn't stop production of the Switch in time. The stores still have a lot of stock of many of the different Switch models. They usually are pretty good about stopping production so that there aren't many of the old model in stock to "compete" with the new model. I wonder if they're still planning on selling the Switch? Or will they recall the units? Or will they actually reduce the price until it sells out? I doubt it. The last console that I can remember that went on clearance was the Sega Dreamcast. Even the WiiU didn't go on clearance. At least not officially. For awhile there were refurbished units that Nintendo themselves sold. That's when I finally picked one up. But I always wondered if they were brand new units that they just didn't sell and so packaged them as refurbs.

I mean we haven't seen the price yet but it's gotta be some kind of jump, so keeping the current generation around for a while makes sense especially considering anyone buying switch games can use them on the switch 2 (when they can eventually find one). Plus they're still promoting switch games.

That's good. Maybe slightly less frenzy. Or at least we can sit back and enjoy the Direct without simultaneously having multiple computers on multiple websites trying to preorder.
And that's perfect for me since I'll be working so I can snag my preorder in the middle of the night while all you suckers are sleeping.
