Again. Another reasons why preorders are such a cluster. We don't trust retailers so many of us are holding on to more than one preorder only intending to purchase one console. I know I'm not letting either my Target or Walmart preorder go until I'm sure. I might even just take delivery of both and return one.

Sure sounds like the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy is on its way to the Switch 2:

Those lucky enough to snag a Switch 2 preorder will be able to pick up their new console in person at https://corporate.bestbuy.com/2025/nintendo-switch-2/ and
as soon as it launches on June 5: Both retailers are planning on opening their stores at midnight ET that day. Meanwhile, https://www.walmart.com/shop/switch2 is promising to deliver preorders made before June 4 at 8 a.m. ET for free by 9 a.m. local time on June 5 (while supplies last). We've reached out to a Target rep to find out if it has any launch day plans and will update this story if we hear back.

Is the towel in the back to make sure all the heat stays in, just in case some happens to escape that setup?

To clean up the mess when he gets too excited about his new Switch.

plus, i already got my screen protector, grips, new surge protector, already mentioned 7 HDMI splitter. this is the first time i am in on one of these release day launches. i never, ever did before, so yeah, i'm a little jazzed. no harm in that i think. but, i'll tell ya. i don't think i'll do it again. too much chaos/tension/jubilation all in one. too much. plus, this is probably the worst time in the world to release a new system anyway. next time, i wait.

For the most part, but I go both ways.

What the heck is that thing on the left with the joycon?
Also make sure that HDMI splitter is up to snuff. A lot of them won't be able to handle 4K 60hz/1080p 120 hz

The splitter is a good one. Changes inputs automatically and everything. I had another that was more expensive. This is so much better.
or if you’re talking above it, it’s a charger for joy cons. Up to 4.

I'm sure this was talked about and I'm sorry I don't see it, but why are the Zelda enhanced versions $10, but Kirby and the Forgotten Land (of all games) is $20 for the enhanced edition? Why would that be? I didn't even think that was a popular game.

Kirby and Mario Party have full-fledged expansions and aren’t just enhanced ports.

gotcha. didn't know they were doing that. Can Mario Party Jamboree be played using only the Pro controller or do you have to separate the joy-cons and use them? Thanks Adam.

It's pro controller compatible but some of the minigames need joycons (just single joycons, you don't need two per player that I can remember)

When you play Mario Party Jamboree, you can choose to turn motion related mini games off when setting up your session, thus being compatible with the pro controller (I've done this).

Nintendo invites to buy the console/bundles are going out, but Wario says check the console page because if you're eligible you can buy before the email comes:

Mine still says “invitation requested” or something. I wasn’t planning on ordering through them, but I was still curious.
Very cool to see people be able to order this way!

It depends on what else gets here at the same time.
Walmart estimates that I won't have Mario Kart World until the day after launch. If it arrives earlier, then...well, that's the answer.
If not...well, maybe I'll be impatient and try to buy a copy of MKW locally anyway. Barring that, probably something dumb like the Welcome Tour, or maybe I'll just get things setup for my wife so she can play Animal Crossing while we wait for MKW to show up.

I don't think I've had the Switch for more than a year. Not even close, I don't think. And, yes, those, but enhanced for the Switch 2.

Feels like a year.
And if you're looking forward to them, why not start playing them now? Then you can appreciate the improvements.
