Robocop Rogue City (11/2/23 - PC/PS/Xbox)
Demo up on Steam.
Liking the demo so far, though lots of stuttering and doesn't appear to be open world.

Don't mean to go off topic, but I just watched the RoboDoc documentary series, they were fantastic...must watch for any RoboCop fan.

Got the Alex Murphy edition, thus early access. Played first few minutes. Very brief, but the look, the music…excellent. Can’t wait to play more.

Currently at 70 on Metacritic. Those are some seriously mixed reviews. Some sources I usually trust like The Sixth Axis, Push Square and Games Radar gave it a really low score.

It’s a basic shooter. Nothing extraordinary, but if you love the movie, like I do, this really pushes the right buttons as far as movie to game conversions. Hearing Weller reprise the role is worth it alone imo. Won’t shock the world, but damn fun to play.

Yeah it's not winning GOTY or anything, but if you like Robo, it's great. And if you like ultra violence, then even better.
Tho working the complaint desk was great too

I'll wait until this is $20 or less... the trailer was not inspiring, IMO. I know you don't want to be on the streets of Detroit at night... but there are even less things going on in Detroit than the real deal.

I have Robocop 2 ready to go for tonight (since this takes place in-between 2 and 3), then I can jump into this full tilt this weekend, I hope.

This is a fun game. First off Peter Weller is a selling point, as are the signature sound effects of RoboCop’s walking. The satirical elements are also in place with some side quests, and some radio ads, but I hope to see more of it as I continue.
You can definitely feel the slowness of the character compared to other first person games where you run at fast speeds and take cover. RoboCop does not take cover or use stealth, as expected. The police station is also nicely recreated and you can freely explore it.
The checkpoints are a bit annoying. It’s like 2008 in that regard. If you get killed, you can load your last checkpoint which could be back at the start of a multi part area, or your last auto save which could be one minute ago or eight minutes ago. The PS5 version has some issues with cutscenes and some slowdown which I hear will be patched.

This is Deal of the Week isn’t he PSN Store, 40% off ( $35.99). I’m considering it, but suspect it might make PS Plus Extra or Game Pass before too long….

Picked this up on sale recently. I like it so far but yes the style takes some getting used to.
I will fully admit I do not have the reflexes I used to, and I quite possibly never really had them.
I have tried ten times to pass the intro mission of "go to the firing range" and I cannot score anything close to the required score. As far as I can tell, I cannot progress in the game if I don't do this (side note: I f*ing hate hard-stop skill checks like this in a single player game.) Reminds me of the first Driver game where you had to do basically every driving move to get out of the training garage and even start playing.)
Anyway - tips? tricks? anything I'm doing wrong? or is it just 'git gud' (which I also hate, again, it's a f'ing single player game, I think all SP games should have the option of "hey, we see you're struggling, let's lower this down a bit so you can get on with the game.")

Late to the game, but I picked this up for $30 and I’m having a lot of fun. Finished my first playthrough in a few days. Working on new game + now. I missed a few things on the first go-round even though I’m generally pretty thorough. Weller, the music and sound effects are great.
