Embracer, which had been buying up one company after another on borrowed money, had a 2 billion dollar financing deal go awry in 2023 and they have cut a ton of employees and companies since then. The reason I bring this up is because of the recent outing of the founder of Dark Horse Comics (which was bought by Embracer a few years ago) and this video:

They are not technically private equity but man the wealth generated here by companies who are just living on borrowed money is kinda sickening. Of course it was Richardson's choice to sell to them in the first place, and I'm sure they offered him money that was hard to refuse given their financial status after they lost Star Wars and other licenses, but geez.
