I've been playing Path of Exile 2 since released (Beta Form) and I'd say majority of "Average D4" players would give up in a few day if that. In the Beta there's just 3 Acts. You replay the Three Acts to end game at a higher difficulty. I've died more in Act 1 than I died in the entire Season 6 of D4. And Loot, I'll say I can pick up more Rares and Legendary in one Dungeon Run in D4 than what I've seen with Three Classes in Act 1 combined. You actually have to play and use Blue Items...and expect to die a lot.. Enemies are more aggressive, bosses are tougher and in close quarters. And Loot as scarce it is can drop for any class. It's probably closer to Diablo 2 than anything else.

My personal feeling is, D4 has slowly turned into D3...a Loot Fest that's got out of hand. That was a complaint hearing from the Hardcore Diablo Faithfull about D3, it became a Loot Fest and Easy. You can get what, 15-20 Unique's running a Boss over and over again in 20-30 minutes. Majority of Legendary items are now trash and why bother with Rares.....devs should've told all those crying a river not enough drops, not enough legendary, not enough unique, bosses to hard, we need buffs to stick it....I've seen a lot of comments from those who played D4 now playing this and despite the struggles and dying a lot...They Love It, like the challenge and having to actually play......

I’m still playing the season a few hours a week. I usually just try and clear a pit level and run a nightmare dungeon to masterwork my gear some more, The new legion events in the new areas are still fun, but the world bosses are almost unplayable because I the game gets overwhelmed if there’s too many Spiritborn and you get serious lag and rubber banding.

Next expansion was announced tonight. Lord of Hatred out on 4/28/26

Paladin is being added and is playable if you preorder the expansion tonight. The new season goes live tonight as well
