Re: Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PS4/PS5; 11/12/20)

I wasn't sure if I was ready to hop back into Spidey-world after pouring 60 hours into the first game but two hours in and I'm having a blast. The game looks good, but the character models are clearly last gen. The world itself though is gorgeous. Miles' new Venom power is pretty cool. I've already unlocked 4-5 skills on the skill tree, so not sure how long this game might be, but that seems pretty quick.

The game crashed on me. I was working a compound taking guys out with stealth. I was spinning my camera around and it got stuck spinning round and round. Controller was unresponsive. Console power button, also unresponsive. I had to unplug the system which brought me back to a recovery mode and a stern warning not to unplug the console like that again.

Grabbed a couple selfies...

Greetings from Avengers Tower:

Spoiler:

This one was interesting, after this fight this dude got stuck on the light. Some serious Spidey skills going on with that one.
Spoiler:

After spending around 6hrs in the game, I absolutely love it. Just like original Spidey but the visuals are stunning. Such a fun game!

The first game we played on the PS5. My son was in awe with his mouth wide open. Then he proceeded to play Sackboy for about 3 hours straight.

Re: Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PS4/PS5; 11/12/20)

Finished it up this afternoon. Did all the side quests/challenges/etc before finishing. A couple new quests open up once you beat the game so I've still got those to play through. I loved the original Spider-Man and I think I like this one even more. Miles Morales is just a far more interesting character than Peter Parker and the neighborhood people you encounter through the story are all well developed and add to the plot. Loved the Miles Morales 2020 costume so stuck with it throughout the game (though now that I unlocked the suit with the cat I'll play with that for the endgame stuff).

An update just came out tonight. Hopefully it will address some of the issues that keep my copy crashing from time to time.

Love the game so far and the combat is surprisingly much more engaging than it was in Spider-man.

Only just starting to dive in but love it already. The Christmas Eve dinner part was great.

Finished the main game, which I quite enjoyed. Not too interested in doing all the extra stuff this time around though.

About how long would you say it is? Before release I was reading 7-10 hours but I'm already at 5+, mostly doing the app side quests. I'm maybe 3-4 quests past the bridge scene in the msq.

It's 5.5 - 9 hours if you stick with just the main story. 9 - 15 hours if you do the side quests.

I'll probably do a good big of the side content in this one if that's the case (along with some NG+). The world/city is so fun to play in.

Yep, sounds about right. I think I clocked in maybe 7 or 8 for the main quest and a handful of side quests.

I thought I was having problems with my visuals because it looked bad. I kept fooling with the settings and switched my HDMI. finally realized I was wearing the Spiderverse suit and it was just doing that phasing effect... woops

You also want to make sure you are playing the PS5 version on the PS5... since sometimes it defaults to the PS4 version (other games as well).

why would it default to older unit?

Because the UX isn't very good. Activision had to tweet out a workaround for Call of Duty since there were so many complaints.

Well Miles crashed on me for a second time. I was just poking around the menus upgrading my suit. I haven't used sleep mode since you guys have talked about it being the possible cause.

I beat an Underground hideout and missed the gadget cache. Does anyone know if I can just wander the site and find it, or do I have to retry it for the cache to appear?
