Re: Far Cry 6 (10/7/21)
the most I would ever play on a weekend is 2 hours straight or hour here, hour little later. I remember Red Dead Redemption on 360 only one I was so addicted to everything especially hunting and getting only 100% I’ll ever get in my life and I cheated on done or got tips. Still had to do, but I craved playing that and would at odd hours on weekends. I would love to, but just can’t during week, but I enjoy what little time I have. FC5 wasn’t as addicting as RDR, but it got only play from me.

I'm looking forward to playing this, but I'm going to wait until Black Friday and hope it's on sale for $39.99 or $29.99. I like to play Far Cry via co-op with my best friend.

Re: Far Cry 6 (10/7/21)
A little Bulletstormish with the self-deprecating over the top humor?
This does look good though. I didn’t hear his voice in game spot review, but that’s even more awesome Biehn in it!
It has exploration and stuff? Good shooting mechanics? About how long is it?
I think I’d rather start with this b4 FC6. Is this accessible D1? Thanks AT.
Already dl’ing the game now. Would love that Blood Dragon first…

that’s awesome. I’m just OI, obsessive impulsive. And might start this weekend. Either BD if available, but Alan Wake Remaster also has my attention for the weekend. Might be a toss of a coin…

That said, the Far Cry games are always Day 1 for me... while almost everything Ubi makes is massive, the FC series feels like it's done right.

Blood Dragon was a ton of fun. It wasn't quite as open world as other Far Cry games, a lot shorter, but definitely worth it.

^ when does BD come out? I can’t find anything definitive for consoles. Others are 2022 (Stadia), 2023 (PC), but consoles seemed sooner…

It should come out in the next year as part of the Gold Edition DLC
If you can't wait, go ahead and Play it today. It's backwards compatible.

Re: Far Cry 6 (10/7/21)
I’ll wait. Thanks Deck. I do stupid stuff, but not going to buy something I just bought. I’m positive FC6 will tide me over. Too bad, but at least the weapons and outfits available in FC6 off the bat…

Reviews have me tempted but I still have 4, Primal, 5, and New Dawn to finish. Will still hold out for Black Friday sale.
The Cockfighting mini game sounds like a riot

Re: Far Cry 6 (10/7/21)
My copy came today. I played a little bit. I think it's fine. Very pretty environments. The first hour in any Far Cry game is a bit of a slog. I'm waiting for the craziness to kick in.
I read the Polygon review and if you want to feel as fired up against "political correctness" and "SJW" as the most devout right-wing TV watchers, just read that. It's a diatribe about how the game didn't fulfill its potential to portray Latin American characters in the most representative light. Complaints about how the dialog slips from English to Spanish and back. Some characters are stereotypes (as they are in EVERY Far Cry game). Really petty issues are dwelled on ad nauseum. It should really have been an editorial column and not the game review.

I’m picking this up today. 3 was great, 4 was forgettable, 5 was underwhelming, and didn’t finish New Dawn.
I’m just waiting for the inevitable “drugged out/dream sequence level.”

I never played any and I loved 5. Not big OW guy but just got 5 and loved it. Think I’m going to fire this one up first this weekend. Instead of Alan Wake remaster. Dammit, if I don’t love Giancarlo from back in his Do the Right Thing days.

It looks very good, not photo realistic or the best looking next-gen game but very pretty and colorful. Great frame rate. Controls and plays like FC5 and that's fine by me.

Re: Far Cry 6 (10/7/21)
I read the review and your take on it is a bad one and from you disappointing. I also completely disagree with your last sentence. A game review is subjective and specific to the person reviewing the game. These are not technical reviews. The setting of Far Cry 6 is close to the heart of the reviewer (being from Latin America) so I would expect them to have personal feelings about the games content that might not match with every person playing the game.
Just like how hypothetically, I wouldn't really appreciate a review of a Wolfenstein game written by a Jewish person who complained that the game wasn't sensitive enough to the issues of the Holocaust and anti-Semitism -- that may be the case, but it's not really a game review at that point. At least Polygon doesn't score their reviews.

Started playing and loved the opening. Far Cry is Far Cry is Far Cry and that's always a good thing in my book. The formula is pretty "by the books" anymore but you don't fuck with Coke and get a better Coke product, right?
