What is it with modern game design where they keep interrupting gameplay to get you into some menu.
You're having fun playing an action game? Hold up a minute and open the menus to do some data management!

True on that! However, I am enjoying bopping around the map and exploring, finding the various collectors boxes, and taking over locations. It is silly, however, that you can move a hundred feet or so from where you killed an enemy to then have another one in their place. This only occurs in the areas that are in red but can't be taken over. I understand the need for a consistent enemy presence but not immediate. The blood hasn't even dried yet and there is already another person standing in their place.

Okay, that makes sense. Shea and I spent over an hour fighting waves of Special Forces while trying to overtake a base. It would never end and we couldn’t figure out what we were doing wrong.

Man, I do love me some Far Cry. I love the feel of the game, the Cuban vibe (and I've been there), and it feels like I've gotten more weapons a lot quicker than in previous games. (I just can't help wanting to use the one the shoots CDs while playing the Macarena.) Maybe it's early yet, but it feels a bit more scripted, less open world if that makes sense, but I'm hoping I'm wrong. It's nice having an alligator for a buddy, but I have to start most missions without him or else he alerts everyone too quickly. Agree the sniper rifle is absolutely useless so far, unfortunately. And there is no skill tree? Overall though, it's just plain fun.

There's never a skill tree in Far Cry. It's about upgrading the weapons you like to change your play style

Huh OK. I could have sworn in at least one of them (4?) you could pick stuff, but I could be wrong. Either way, I really appreciate how they keep the same general style of gameplay but make each one so original in other ways.

Damn, that's on me. I guess it's been a while.
I suppose the new gear system is how they handle skill trees now. Allows for more microtransactions.

It's a disappointing monetizing trend. And I suppose I feed right into it because I'm using the Gold Edition's Blood Dragon gear set as it's better than anything I can scrounge at the moment.

Don't like having to go to workbenches to swap out guns, mods and gears.
Like I said earlier, there's already way too much resource management and menu navigation - they should just let you be able to carry everything, and not have to keep switching out mods and bullets every time you have a different encounter. It disrupts the flow of the game, and breaks immersion pretty badly.

Guns and gear can be swapped on the fly from the menu. I’ve been kitting out different guns with different ammo types so I can just select the gun I want for a situation instead of having to hoof it to a workbench to respec individual guns.
The glitches are more annoying to me. I’ve had a spot where crocs swarmed me in a field and there were too many to do anything with, a tank turn invisible while I was driving it and all kinds of goofy instant respawn stuff. I did use the latter to my advantage on one mission where I was supposed to destroy a bunch of the poison canisters/vehicles. I would just take off in one of their crop dusters, fly straight up several hundred feet, then bail out and parachute to where it had respawned below me. Each abandoned plane crashed and counted as progress toward the objective.

My game keeps going to main menu? What can I do? I know people had problems with quick resume, but I can’t even go to main menu and continue…

Re: Far Cry 6 (10/7/21)

Quick Resume has been working fine for me here (though I've had bad experiences with a different Ubi title) except when I fired up Apple TV. I got stuck in that loop afterwards. But opening other apps, like Rewards, or just suspending/resuming FC6 has worked for me, fingers crossed.

Started playing this last night. I like it a lot - trees in video games are finally starting to evolve as well. I haven't gotten very far so I can't comment too much on gameplay and extras but the gameplay feels more refined this time out.
