Biomutant (PC, PS4, XB1)
Until very recently, I thought this game came out, like, two years ago. But it's shaping up to be worth the wait!

Conan did them no favors with his segment

It looked like it had a nice aesthetic but the gameplay in all the trailers looked like a deadly dull time.

I know that narrator is going to grate on a lot of players.

I'll still get it. Look forward to exploring the diverse world. Watched some gameplay earlier from a streamer and it looks like a decent amount of fun. Probably have more actual fun with it than Returnal, which cost me full price.

I will wait for a sale. I suspect it won't be too long.

For a game that's been mentioned and talked about for what...now at least two years...it seems all the way up to release a lot had no idea what the game was actually about.....
....Gameinformer has their review up...6.5....that will probably be like a lot of others out there..... Biomutant Review – The Short Branch Of The Evolutionary Tree - Game Informer
...and Gamespot has their review up....6 of 10 .... Biomutant Review -- A Flawed Mutation - GameSpot
...and Pushsquare has their review up....4 of 10.... Biomutant Review (PS4) | Push Square

I've read and seen several reviews but the best ones have always been from highly touted and followed YouTube Reviewersd....this one below pretty much nails it...and almost says the same thing...as other reviews and reviewers...401K views in 3 Days...but it's a good watch and summonrizes the game well...

And they were wrong to do so.
I reactivated my EA Play Pro account on PC primarily to play Mass Effect, but I was also curious about this so I installed it and played for a couple hours week. It's aggressively mediocre. Those scores in the 4-6 range seem accurate to me. Sloppy combat. Bad writing. And the narrator is more annoying and intrusive than any review would lead you to believe.
For the curious, either wait for a sub-$20 sale, or activate/renew a Play Pro account on PC for $15 and play it that way.

Thankfully you can turn the narrator off completely other than for actual scenes.

Also this game does the thing, at least early on, where it’ll constantly take your control of the character away for a cut scene or tutorial pop up. Multiple instances of cut scene, walk 30 yards, cut scene, etc. Right up there on my list of video game pet peeves.

Big patch on the way :The developer behind Biomutant has said an upcoming update will make significant improvements to the game.
Experiment 101 said this update, which it hopes to release soon, will include bug fixes and "changes based on community feedback".
What changes, exactly? Experiment 101 didn't go into great detail, but namechecked many of Biomutant's systems:
"We are working on the pacing of dialogues, narrator settings, difficulty settings, video settings like depth of field and motion blur, loot and enemy tuning as well as sound and combat," the developer said.
That's quite a lot of the game this update is set to tackle!

I like it. I don't much care for all of the yapping, and the graphics aren't the best, but the game is fun. There is also no limit as to what you can pick up and carry. You don't have to worry about going through your stuff every hour to break things down or get rid of them. In fact, a lot of the things you pick up can be used to craft various parts of weapons and make them better. There are also some silly looking helmets, armor and weapons. I can easily see it being a 50 hour game. I just hope that the developers support it and work towards a much improved PS5 version. My son likes it as well, so that makes quite a but of difference for me.

Do my thoughts not count? You buy almost every game out there. Give it a shot.
