Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Reading the description they are tracked by the headset. I assume that means no camera to set up?
|
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
As some one who has played 100 or so hours of PSVR not having to set up a camera would be a game changer. All my issues have been camera related and having to adjust to a sweet spot where I can reach and have it recognize.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Yes, I forgot about the camera issues and trying to stay within a range so that the game could track it. Also, I would play more if I didn't get as nauseous playing it. I would start sweating profusely after about the 10 minute or so mark of gaming.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
30 min to Walmart restock if anyone is actively looking.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Yeah, I've never expected myself to be able to use VR as it currently is. Usually I'm fine if I'm the one controlling the movement (like driving vs being a passenger) but I haven't wanted to risk the outcome if VR didn't settle well with me.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Walmart sold out in less than a minute... literally, less than 1 minute. Fucking BS.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Sorry to hear that. ☹️

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Yeah, thanks... what are you going to do? I have no issue waiting for when it's available naturally but I suspect that bots are still getting these ahead of real customers. So that is what frustrates me.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I just saw someone post that you should try using the mobile app for walmart. Still a crapshoot but maybe a leg up? I dunno.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Yeesh, like trying to get a Publix Covid shot in Florida.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Your best bet is PlayStation Direct and pray that you are placed at the start of the queue. Walmart is a shitshow.

Unfortunately you might be SOL. My wife doesn't really have motion sickness issues anywhere else, but give her a VR headset and she lasts about 30 seconds before getting sick to her stomach (even with something that's not really moving like "Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes". )

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Also less lag. Just a tiny bit of delay between your own head movement and when the headset displays that movement... It's enough to trigger that motion sickness in some folks. I found it was mostly fine for most games I played in PSVR, but there were one or two that I just couldn't handle.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
^^ I cannot play Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners for this reason... Sucks because that's a fantastic VR game

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I’m having an annoying issue with my ps5. Whenever I boot up my console, whatever disc is in the drive is reading as unplayable until I get up, eject it and put it back in.
Anyone else have this problem? |

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I have a friend at work whose wife has been able to snag three PS5's...one for them and two for others. I threw my name in but he was telling me with Sony Direct you more or less put your name in and they pull from a pool. How do you get your name in and able to be picked: is there some sign up and register?
|
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
You need to get in the queue at Sony Direct when a PS5 stock is going to drop. Then you will be randomly placed in line to proceed into the store. If your wait shows something like 10-15 minutes, you will most likely get one. If it shows “more than an hour”, come back and try your luck the next time.

Also it’s been mentioned but the Mario64 Twitter feed is also a good source. |

Download the HotStock app. You don’t have to get the paid option. It sends out alerts when several sites get stock. Sony Direct is still a lottery even if you are in the queue but you do get the chance. The app tells you when it starts so you don’t have to check all the time. After my fourth or fifth try over two months I got one from Sony Direct that I gifted to someone. I also got a 3070 by using the app.
