Hopefully their refund doesn't come in the form of store credit.

10-15 day investigation? Fuck that. Dispute that charge.

They said it will be over between the 18th and 25th. If I don't like what I hear I will go through my credit card. I'm considering filing a police report because I don't like how fedex blew me off.

DO NOT DISPUTE the charges. Let it play out. Filing a police report is a good idea if you are worried (though it can be a bit of a pain in the ass).

Gamestop has this weird thing where they ship in pieces (usually from multiple stores, I guess) and don't do a good job telling you what's shipping from where. Also, there is a huge disparity in how things are packaged/boxed up.

However, there should be an invoice slip in the box with listed item contents, was that missing?

The invoice was there which listed the PS5 but not the missing game. The PS5 is listed as $500.01

You can clearly tell someone played "switch the box" with the package. I'm surprised they didn't take the controller as well.

Ok. Thanks for the advice bud.

I've waited so long for this thing after numerous failed attempts the last two plus months that I just want a replacement.

You basically surrender all your claims of being in the right if you try to reverse charges. Right now you're the wronged party who needs to be remedied.

Waiting two weeks is a pain, but I would jump through these hoops now so you can show the good faith you have demonstrated if things don't progress as you would like later on.

Did you take multiple pictures of the box before you opened it?

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Yeah, if the invoice listed the PS5 it probably is missing. I still wouldn't necessarily conclude it was stolen and not mispacked by the shipper (or stolen by the guy in Gamestop). I don't see why someone wouldn't just steal the whole package instead of take the time to switch the box and leave stuff in it. But I guess people are crazy.

Good luck!

^ If something still scans up until delivery, it won't show as missing in the tracking system.

How does that help you get away with it, though? Unless it's some worker in a sorting facility or something (and I would think that they have security to make that really tough). But the original packer and the delivery guy are going to be heavily scrutinized either way.

Maybe somebody in a shipping warehouse? It certainly clouds where the package disappeared from if some box got scanned at several locations after the PS5 was stolen.

Struck out all four times. There has to be a better way than this.

I wonder if they document the box they leave on your doorstep with a picture like they do with Amazon now.

I get them from Amazon .... don't know if Fedex does but I doubt it. I'm going to be pretty adamant that I want a replacement from GS and ask if they can either send it to a local GS store for pickup or hold for me to drive to the FedEx center. The more I read on Reddit this is ridiculous because it seems like it is rampant and FedEx is not doing anything about it. I also wonder if they scanned the weights at each location. That could tell where things went missing.

I had one in my cart and it said sold out but it stayed in my cart. 10 min later I refreshed when it went live again and they kicked it out of my cart

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I just went into my GS account and the subtotal has doubled and now their is a second bundle that looks like it is pending. Actual total has stayed the same. It says "awaiting product availability" with a 6/0/2021 release date which is odd.

I'll take that as a good sign they are sending me a new on eventually.

Edit: I should mention that second bundle with the adjusted subtotal of $1440 only appears on my GS app order page. The web page still shows one bundle under my orders for $719. Strange.

I’m about ready to throw in the towel. Fuck it. You don’t want make enough to meet demand. Here’s one less you have to make.

So overdramatic. It doesn't have anything to do with them not wanting to make enough to meet demand. We're in a pandemic and production is still hampered by that fact.

Lol. It has nothing to do with the pandemic. This happens every time a new console comes out.

There are news articles specifically saying the pandemic is still holding up production and that also caused a lower original production number. Obviously consoles are always hard to get at launch but this is making it even harder.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

It’s not the pandemic. I realize that’s the go to complaint for everything right now, but this is simply a case of driving down supply to up demand. I’m choosing not to play that game.
