Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Hearing people describe how the controller’s haptic feedback with Astro’s playroom has me really excited. That I think will be a big advantage in the next gen over the XSX, if used properly. Just sounds like a really cool addition to the gameplay experience.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Sweet!! Mine shows release day delivery.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I'd love for Target to start setting their delivery dates already. Still shows a window of Nov 12-17th.

But yeah, it all comes down to developers. *cough* touchpad *cough* |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
This first thing I do with any new controller or system is disable rumble.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Really? I love rumble!

I've never been a big fan of rumble (it's a pretty generic feature that hasn't evolved much since the N64) but the feedback on the DualSense so far is pretty exciting. I've watched a few reviews and they're all blown away with how amazing it works.
But yeah, it all comes down to developers. *cough* touchpad *cough* PS4 touchpad is basically just a big button in most games, to open maps and/or crafting screens. It became "just another Select button" with a few exceptions. That said, I'm excited to see how this new feedback turns out; it's one of those "you probably have to feel it to get it" sort of things for me. Like VR. Which was great at first (huge WOW factor!), but faded quickly for me as well. |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
The problem with features like the dual sense is cross platform devs would need some reason to take the time to add it into just the PS5 version. It will only be used to it's potential on exclusives, IMO.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Right now, aside from the issue of getting the systems is figuring out how to make it work with my TV stand. Standing them upright would be space saving, and better for ventilation, but they’d be behind the TV.

@verge: Sony confirms PS5 won’t support SSD storage expansion at launch https://t.co/T92SDz0omI https://t.co/ZjD6tWesl4 I don't recall seeing that mentioned before. |

Mine too. |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
That makes no sense...

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Fuck, I already have my NVMe coming from Best Buy too. That sucks, I was hoping to install it staightaway before setting the system up.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I thought Sony was going to release a specific list of supported HDDs at some point, which they haven't done yet.

What’s the holdup? As Cerny explained, not all M.2 SSDs are fast enough to keep up with the PS5, thin enough to fit into the SSD bay, or compatible with Sony’s I/O controller — and Sony promised to do compatibility testing late this year to make sure. |

Anyone who got in on an Amazon pre-order, check your order status. Mine just updated to delivery arriving on the 12th.

Looks like review embargo is lifted:

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
My console charge by Sony now shows pending on my card. I'm cool with that...

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
This pretty much answers all the questions I had about the PS5. |
