should have bought PS+ last month :( My Daughter discovered it on youtube and had been begging me to buy it for a few weeks. I kept telling her to wait and I would buy it when I had some extra spending money. Well, when that time came, I went to buy it, and noticed that I could download it for free. I had to go find my email receipt to see that I actually had claimed it from PS+ Of course when this happened, she yelled at me for making her wait when I already owned it. |

Heads-up folks : CD Keys is currently selling a 12 Mo subscription for PS Plus for $31.79, a 47% discount on the current price of $59.99. The code comes instantly. Most of us suspect the rate for PS Plus is going to go up soon after the PS5 launch with the new Game Pass - type features in the PS5. I would say it's time to stock up, there doesn't seem to be a 3-year cap on subscriptions like there is for the Xbox. I would hang onto the renewal email from Sony just in case, as it shows your new renewal date.
I'm good until halfway through 2025 now. |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
CD Keys would not let me buy more than 3 codes.

That’s $160-ish in today’s dollars. |

Yup. Street Fighter 2 on Super Nintendo was around that much too.
We've talked at length about the price hike and I still think that people will pay out the nose for the main franchises (which don't really need the extra revenue) and the smaller ones will suffer or people will wait for sales. So even if you argue that this is needed to fund development, the franchises that are making money hand over fist because of increased sales numbers (and are moving towards microtransactions) will be the ones to benefit the most, IMHO. If you have a gaming budget and Madden suddenly jumps 10 bucks, you'll probably still buy Madden and not buy something else. But we'll see. As long as they don't do a Nintendo-like price freezing, most of us will get the games for cheaper eventually anyway. I'm certainly going to be cutting way back on day 1 games (I actually did so when my GCU finally expired). |

Man it's gonna suck in two more years when my GCU finally expires.

There are so many games I bought "because I had GCU so why not" that I didn't end up playing until they were available for well below GCU prices (part of that is because game prices drop like a rock fast these days). |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
 You're telling me! I am the guy who bought The Avengers because it was $38 after GCU and RZ Certificate and came with a Steelbook. It was a game I had close to zero interest in, yet at that price, I couldn't say No.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
They probably block multiple purchases for fraud reasons. Thinking someone stole the card to pay for the codes and is reselling them.

I just noticed that Walmart charged me in full for my pre order. I certainly hope that means my order is safe.

Yup. It's fully posted to my credit card today. Nothing for the separate order for Miles Morales though.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
BestBuy did the full price auth on my order  Didn't use Paypal, because I knew the sites would already be too shitty for that extra step.
|
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I'm pretty sure if you use paypal on a preorder it takes it right away and doesn't just do a pre authorization like a credit card does.
