If they screw us out of the Amazon orders then I will simply wait until Best Buy gets them back in stock. I don't understand how you simply can't go down the list of orders and fulfill them. Each retailer had to have some idea of how many units they were going to be allocated in their first batch. If they are selling hopes and prayers, I say I will take my business elsewhere.

I can't get to this page on Firefox for some reason when I have it set to 40 posts per page. Working in Chrome though...

Cookie issue on my side. Carry on...

By any chance do you work for the new Sony Retail Online Store?

I have a friend of a friend who got me in on a PS5 pre-order via Sony invite earlier. It let him order one of each console(he wanted digital, I wanted disc) and both purchases went through so I might have a PS5? Maybe?

I'll still try and nab a pre-order somewhere else in case this falls through. I'll pay it forward to another friend though if he can't get one. Not interested in scalping.

the reason I said that is because I nabbed a Walmart one, but the Amazon one was also up so I preordered another. I mean, both could potentially fall through, but I'm not keeping both... hopefully amazon can guarantee a delivery date and I can just cancel the walmart one.

There is no way in hell that those of us that snagged that first batch of Amazon pre-orders should be on the outside looking in. That is unless they are trying to pinch us out for whatever reason. They are better off just accounting for those orders as part of their initial allotment of consoles.

Same here.

I'll either cancel my extras or see if I can help out the community.

I don't think my Amazon order will be fufilled in Nov. I'm thinking more Dec or beyond.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Update : As we were riding in the car, my wife was driving and I checked my email. I saw a new email from Sony with the subject line Final Hours: Your Exclusive Invitation to Pre-Orde.
I figured what the Hell, so I clicked on the link. This time I was taken to an actual console Preorder page and was able to order a console directly from Sony with Release date delivery. They did charge Sales tax.
My wife asked "What are you doing?" as she saw me copying my credit card info onto my phone. I told her Preordering a PS5. She said "Another One??

So now I have a guaranteed console for release date. Got a confirmation email. I already cancelled the Amazon one now.

That’s AWESOME. Now no reason to sweat what will happen w/Amazon.
(I just got an email confirmation from my Sony preorder.)

We've sen this in the past and especially when the PS4 came out. People were asking and wondering just how some were posting from Ebay to Amazon and other sites "PS4 For Sell at $$$$$"...and they didn't even have it. These online and Mortar & Brick Retailers have people who have family, friends of friends to some outright bribing to find a way to get a hold of _______. I can recall a lot of people with the PS4...online and stores...complaining they had a Pre-Order but there was no more consoles.

Saw stories over in the UK, online PO's sold out in like 10 minutes and in store ones in a hour or two....

And some about Amazon already backtracking on fulfilling preorders...which anyone with common sense would ask, 'If Amazon can't guarantee pre-orders, what about retail and other online stores?"

Again, this is not new news and has already been discussed in this thread.

I don't remember it being this bad for the PS4 or either Xboxes, but that was 2013, and even 2017.

Not all games, but Sony 1st Partyish, yeah, with some exceptions even to that.

They are definitely pushing AAA games to that as the new normal.

I'm really going to be much more selective with day one purchases going into this next generation. I will get a few titles up front, but will try to finish them and wait for price drops on titles that follow. I say this now and within a year will have 20 PS5 disc games in my collection.

My knee jerk reaction for $69.99 games is “hell no” but then I remember when my friend Pete spent $80 for “Strider” on the Genesis in 1990 from KB Toys and we beat it that afternoon.

That’s $160-ish in today’s dollars.

I know this doesn't affect any of you, but I really wish Sony would let us change our PSN Account region, even if it's only once every 6 or 12 months. I technically have two accounts, but the vast majority of my games are on my original one, which I cannot switch to a US account. I'm tired of buying digital games in a less favorable currency. $90 CAD + tax is going to be rough, boys.

Yeah, I paid $70 for Clayfighter 63 1/3 back in the day. Biggest mistake of any of my gaming purchases.

Have you called Sony to see if there is a solution? Maybe they have a procedure where you can prove the need for a region switch.

Their FAQ says you have to create a new local account and link them to share content, they don't budge much on that stuff.
