I'm not great with graphics. It took me awhile to figure out how to copy and edit in Paint. I spent way too much time trying to get 100% on the dispatch calls in Dispatch and trying to get different endings.

Do you have to use different hdmi wires for 4K hook up or is a regular hdmi cables will do? Thanks.

Yes, for the best 4K experience (especially with HDR, high frame rates like 120Hz, or newer consoles), you need a High-Speed HDMI cable (or better), not just a "regular" older cable, as older ones lack the bandwidth for smooth, uncompressed 4K signals, potentially causing flickering or poor quality; look for "Premium High-Speed" or "Ultra High-Speed" (HDMI 2.1) for future-proofing and advanced features.

Spoiler:
I Googled “Do you have to use different hdmi wires for 4K hook up or is a regular hdmi cables will do?”

😉

Merry Christmas OldBoy!

An even easier answer: The PS5 comes with an HDMI cable. Use that one, and you're fine.

My experience with cheap hdmi switches has been hit or miss, but yes, those are both technically fine.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I use this one for my Switch 2 and PS5 since my tv only has two HDMI inputs. It works well for me, but it's only 2 in 1 out and 60Hz, but my tv is only 60Hz.
Amazon Amazon

The only thing is all the cables have to be 3 feet or less for HDR so I had to buy 3 new cables for it.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Why only 3’? I just bought 8 new ultra and they are 6.6’. Anything smaller won’t reach the electronic device.

I can. I only have a Switch 2, PS5, and Apple TV though. The
listing and instructions said to only use 3 foot cables. It works fine for me. Spending $30 on a switch and cables is cheaper than buying a new tv.

4K = UHD = 3840 x 2160

As far as consumers are concerned, they mean the same thing.

I would definitely go with the RGB cables for maximum clarity and color spectrum.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

So, if the cable is longer than 3’, it won’t get 4K UHD resolution?

Maybe we can move HDMI the cable questions to the Tech Talk sub-forum?

Non-Google answer… you can but the signal degrades over distance, but some cables have chipsets in them to boost the speed and compensates for the distance.

I had to use a 25’ cable in a classroom once for FHD, so I needed an HDMI cable that had a certain chipset in one end and one connector was much larger that the other and were labeled “source” and “display.” I had it backwards once and couldn’t get an image until I turned it around.

Give it a whitl with what you’ve got and if it doesn’t work, use your Amazon stash to get what you need.

Thanks G. I guess 6’6” will do. That seems to be the standard. That’s what I used to buy all this shit. Spent like $3k in credit/currency.

Just read the instructions/item description. My switch specifically said to use 3 foot cables for 4K resolution. Your switch might differ.

It could be out of stock and they're waiting for more to come in. Did it give you a delivery date when you added it to your cart?
