I did read that as long as your PS5 sees the drive speed at around 6,500 you're good to go. It's when the PS5 spits out a number around 5,000 that it's a red flag that the firmware needs to be updated.

So there you go, hopefully that tidbit might help someone. Maybe DJariya if he hasn't done his yet.

I moved a couple of the games I'm playing. Do they run faster? I thought I read they did so I figured I'd give it a shot.
Shoot I didn't really even pay attention to the speed it read (5900? 6500?). I thought I could test it later but I think that's wrong. Says manufactured May 2023 and everything seems to be working just fine/fast, so I guess I'll just let it ride.

Oh shit. I was just looking at buying Alan Wake. Never got around to buying or playing it and wanted to before part 2 releases.

Stray is leaving Playstation Plus Extra in July. It's a quick game but a cool one. Anyone who has that tier (or above) should try to check it out before it leaves. It's worth the minimal time commitment.

Is Alan Wake any good? I like those types of adventure games.

It's very cool. Just a little scary. I enjoyed it a lot. Only played the 360 version (and the DLC, I think). Looking forward to revisiting this remastered version.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I'm probably in the minority but Alan Wake was one of the most overhyped and overrated games I've ever played. For reference I did play it during it's peak/release window so it's not a case of tons of build up to be let down by. That's not to say it's a bad game, it was just very average. Also the collectibles were bizarrely out of place in a game like this. Total case of forcing achievements into a game that should have just focused on the story.

I also didn't find it scary in the least. I was a huge Condemned: Criminal Origins fan which was truly a scary game and one of the first that truly took advantage of 5.1 during the same time period.

Lastly, iI wouldn't really call it an adventure game. It's a slow and deliberately paced horror game.

Agreed. Also, I don't like games that are mostly in the dark, and that's Alan Wake's entire shtick.

If I tried to play Alan Wake with my OLED it would be impossible.

Fuck, look like my PS5 got bricked. Was playing Diablo 4 a bit then it just shut down, couldn't turn it back on, my controller was flashing blue light. Did the repair form and waiting for instruction on how to send it to be repair.

PS5s have been overheating during Diablo 4 and Final Fantasy 16. Have you tried turning it on again after a few hours? You might need to clean the fan and power supply.

I turn on my PS5 this morning and it seem be to working, play a little bit of Diablo 4 before going to the gym. Hopefully, it just a glitch. What the best way to clean the fan and power supply?

Yea...i saw this story on several Game News Sites and found it a bit odd that it's in Court Released Documents of the M.S/Activision Trial....along with the costs of Last of us and Horizon Zero Dawn games...I thought this was all about M.S & Activision Merger?.....so what if Sony wants to release a Slim or even a "Fat-Boy" PS5....

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

It's a 15 month old article, but I'm sure it will still be great for the PS5.

I use that model in my PC. No issues at all since I've had it.

Yeah I bought it almost exactly a year ago (7/12/22) for more than double the price (and it was a great deal at the time)
