It's obviously a CGI mockup and looks somewhat accurate to what the size will actually be, but they made the optical drive 50% larger for some reason.

If that’s real I don’t know where I’m going to put it. I already figured it was going to be to wide to lay flat in my entertainment cabinet. I was hoping I was wrong but this confirms it. Maybe behind my tv. My modem and router are already there so this would probably just blend in. 😂

Well...Sony is not holding back and planning for the future....just made a strategic $250 Million investment to have a minority interest in Epic Games....smart move on their part especially with The Unreal Engine 5 coming...https://www.gameinformer.com/2020/07...-in-epic-games

Did Sony announce when the Miles Morales themed PS5 is going to be released?

So that's why Sony took it down. I actually shared that design on my FB page from Sony's account and then it disappeared and I have a message on my timeline that this link isn't available anymore. But it was from Sony, I'm 100% sure. Well, that's certainly disappointing cause Sony could release a Miles Morales version and it would sell out immediately.

But recolors and such are saved for later when they can make an impact on sales, for sure.

A definite price would be nice. I was about to pull the trigger on a PS4 when I learned of this, and decided to wait once I confirmed backwards compatibility.
But honestly, there’s no time like the present and I’m REALLY tempted to just buy a PS4 and start playing these games I’ve spent so many years (In some cases) wanting to play. I just want to play SW: Fallen Order and The Last of Us 1&2 more than anything. It’s so tempting to just go for it.

The rumor now is that GameStop employees have said that GameStop will start taking pre-orders on Friday. Take it for what it's worth. Amazon finally has a PS5 page on their website, but no price and no pre-order info is listed.

Sony reportedly boosts PS5 production by 50 percent.

Hopefully this means there will be enough to go around for everyone who wants one.

It's weird, this article says that there's increased demand because of the virus.
The article a few months ago said the opposite, that the higher price and economic slowdown meant they were predicting demand would be muted:

Maybe this is going to be cheaper than most analysts thought. Or they're counting on people irrationally buying stuff despite economic turmoil. Because certainly not much has changed in the last few months with regards to the virus (if anything things are looking worse).

Switch sales were off the charts even in April, though (or at the very least, sold out everywhere). That's why I'm wondering what changed in their mindsets.
