Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Yea PS5 is set to 1080P and I checked off anything remotely tied to 4K, HDR and on...it happened again last night with me just moving 1-2ft back....BUT...I'm looking at another alternative....
PS on Computer Gaming Monitor?
Yesterday a friend who has two PS5's for family, a whole Network for everyone to play (Wife and Kids, all big destiny players) asked how I was liking my PS5? I said getting use to UI, love the response but really haven't been able to enjoy the visual part since my setup is non-4K. I said plans were for a TV about 55" later on with the HDMI 2.1, 4K and 120Hz at 1080P...my Sony projector can only do 60Hz....
He then suggested looking at PC Gaming Monitors...he has one (27 inch) due to space and has nothing but praise for the PQ and response. I really never gave it a thought due to size...I was looking for a 55inch to hang on the wall ...BUT...I do have a Sit & Stand desk from work....we install Commercial Furniture Systems...that I had planned for a Gaming PC. I could entertain the idea but I'd need a 32" min since my eyesight is not what it use to be...or just look at a 40-43 inch TV loaded. But according to him, his Gaming Monitor beats any TV he has and used in the past....so anyone use one or has input to the Pros and Cons...and what about Ultra Wide monitors...PS5 supports them?

Maybe I am missing something, but everything you describe is a controller connection to the system (which would be weird).
You moving and it causing the issue shouldn't have to do with any display you are using, the only thing changing is the position/distance of the controller to the system.

It's sounds like an interference issue. Is your WiFi router close to the PS5?

Hell Let Loose could be cool with a massive online base already installed.

Maybe even temporarily hardwiring the console via ethernet if it's currently setup as wi-fi. Not sure why that would affect a controller issue though.
Is the controller updated? I know I have a pending update I keep bypassing in lieu of dragging out a cable.
Just some random thoughts and things to cheaply test before going any other route.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I figured out a method a few months back where I could get my launch DualSense to briefly be responsive -- some combination of logging in with a DS4, deleting/re-adding the DualSense from the PS5, and rebooting the controller, although it'd go back to being unresponsive after a couple minutes -- and I figured I'd give it one last shot before trading in my DS4s and having to call Sony while the warranty is still good. I got that DualSense to be responsive long enough to trigger a manual firmware update (which wasn't an option when this first happened to me in June), and now everything seems to be working great.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Well after countless hours of research and talking to a few friends (Console and PC Players) and reading and watching reviews, setups, suggestions, etc....I decided to go the PC Gaming Monitor Route for the time being till see what's coming next year in terms of TV's and Monitors. I saw several videos on using 144Hz Monitors with both PS5 and XBox Series X which has the advantage of actually using 1440p. But ...you can still use the 144 to 165Hz monitors without serious issues. Iwas torn about going the full 4K route but right now any of the few Monitors offering HDMI 2.1 are just too much. Which is why I'll wait till next year and see...
I ended up ordering the ASUS TUF Gaming 32" 2K HDR Curved Monitor (VG32VQ1B) - WQHD (2560 x 1440), 165Hz (Supports 144Hz), 1ms, Extreme Low Motion Blur, Speaker, FreeSync Premium, VESA Mountable, DisplayPort, HDMI.....
there was really nothing bad about it, 165Hz, 1ms response, sRGB at 120% but no USB ports but no big deal. We have a 27" Business Monitor (HP) that's plenty big for us to use....wife uses it mostly for work...so when I looked at some 32" at Best buy, I figured I could live with that size. I work for a Steelcase dealer so I have a Stand & Sit Desk Electric Desk and have a $800.00 chair to go along with it...
I also grabbed the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System (Black)..... at around $100.00...these things at one time went for $200.00 and still hold their own.
I probably could've grabbed a much more expensive monitor but I told the wife that the TV's I wanted were going for around $1400 to $1600 and didn't care to spend that much right now. That's when a friend at work told me to check playing the PS5 on a PC gaming Monitor which he does. Yea, won't get True 4K at 120Hz and all but for $500.00 I got a pretty good rated 32inch Gaming Monitor and a solid 3Pc Speaker System...not to mention a Free $500 Sit & Stand Desk and Free $800 Desk Chair..... once everything is up and going within a week I hope, I'll post my review and thoughts....

If anyone still has one laying around, trade-in value for the PS4 Pro is now something like $325 (in-store credit) at GameStop, I sold mine to them for like $100 less in cash. Impressed they still hold that much value.

Reminder for others who might do the same; GS won't accept a console without both an HDMI cable and cable to charge the controller. I remember dealing with that when I was trading in my 4 for a 4Pro.

Yup, it's $275 + $50 for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. The bonus also applies for older PS4/XB1 models, but the base values are obviously lower. They're also giving a bonus for XB1/PS4 controllers, and there's an escalating bonus for trading in games...something like 3 games for a 30% bonus, 5 games for a 50% bonus...

So you have to upgrade to Pro (if you're not Pro already) to get the additional $50?
Still worth it as it's an extra $35 after paying the $15 fee... just want to be sure that's what y'all are talking about.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Yeah that's correct. It looks like it slid back down to $275/$220 for Pro members, $250/$200 for non-Pro members.
I bought Pro to get a PS5 bundle and have gotten a lot of value out of it from system trade-ins, added discounts on used games and those monthly $5 discount coupons. So I'm happy with them, for at least the rest of the year I have them haha.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
And I got $5 in points for signing up and another $10 in points for what I traded in (a little shy of $15), so it's basically free. Although for whatever reason, I paid extra to get the physical copies of Game Informer.
Apparently you can put the monthly $5 coupons towards $5 eShop/PSN/Xbox credit, although I haven't gotten my first of those yet, so I can't say for sure if that actually works. But if it does, that's $60 in "free" money even if you don't spend a dime out of pocket at GameStop.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
So I've already spent more time playing my PS5 than I think I did the entirety of the PS4 Era but most were playing catch up on PS4 titles (due to Covid giving me a lot of free time). Has anything worth playing come out recently? The Deathloop thread seems pretty mixed. Miles Morales worth the price of admission?

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Without hesitation, yeah. It's everything I liked about Spider-Man, but much more focused, with a more compelling lead, better supporting cast, immeasurably superior set of abilities, and a really engaging sense of community. It'll be tough to go back to playing as Peter after this.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart would make my shortlist of exclusives, if you haven't played it already. Most of what I've played are cross-gen, though, so if you're looking mostly for exclusives, I'm not going to be able to help too much! I haven't played Deathloop, Returnal, or Demon's Souls.

Think I'll give Morales a spin, thanks!
