I agree. It's cute but the camera is really wonky and controlling is pretty frustrating. Feels like a massive step back from Stray, which I think was kind of brilliant.

Will check out Another Crab's Treasure. Thanks for the recommendation.

well, aside from playing as a cat, I’d say they’re entirely different games, yeah. As far as gameplay, this game feels more akin to that shitty game where you walk around taking pictures of puppies than Stray. Stray is great and needs some kind of sequel.

Will check out Another Crab's Treasure. Thanks for the recommendation.
oh, you'll hate it I was just saying I was a fan of it.
More realistically, you might like the humor (I dig it), but for gameplay, I don’t think it’s up your alley, but you should at least play up until the first real boss fight just in case I’m wrong.
and honestly, after that, the assist mode is worth trying, particularly the last option they give you, as it’s oddly satisfying in a “let’s get on with it” sort of way.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

Oh it's a frustratingly hard game? Okay then, you're probably right.

And while there's only so much one could possibly do as a cat, I do think the two cat games are pretty similar, simple platforming and puzzle solving with minor side quests. They're really not that different, except for the worse controls and camera here.

Maybe they think by doing that, it will cause a mass increase in Gamepass memberships?

I'm sure Gamepass sub prices will go up (or they close more loopholes) and/or they create some new BS tier like Playstation does.

Or maybe they make it up in microtransactions, I dunno I haven't played a CoD in a long time.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

I’m basically in agreement with these two:

I’ll add that if Xbox game unit sales are indeed a small fraction PS5 game unit sales, then this strategy absolutely makes sense, particularly if the new game isn’t coming to last-gen consoles, as it will be very little money lost as far as the bigger picture is concerned.
I don’t think it’ll magically sell Xbox consoles, but even if it convinces people to get a PS5 and the game, it’s still part of the desired outcome.

People who want to play COD on PS5 will have no issue spending the $70 to do so. Same for the Xbox and PC gamers who just don’t want to play it via Game Pass; they can buy the game too!

I could see Game Pass Ultimate going up to $20/month by the end of the year, and separate PC/Console options going to $15, along with all loopholes (rewards, gold conversion, etc.) being cut off or kneecapped if they aren’t already. I’m getting FAR less rewards points each month than last year. Regardless, for the way I personally play games on PC and Console, Ultimate at $20 would still be a good value to me, but I know a good chunk of people will drop off or only subscribe for a few months of the year instead of indefinitely.

What I REALLY want is for all the legacy COD games to get added to Game Pass so I can play through the campaigns. I don’t care about MP all that much anymore.

And that looks like a special price for only the first month.
You are also allowed a whopping 1 game at a time.

Cool. I have wanted to try out The Callisto Protocol since people said it was a Dead Space clone.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

Are they really this desperate for subscribers? I got this email today :

I thought that was weird because I was pretty sure I had a fair amount of time left. I checked and yeah, paid through Oct 2026. So they must be sending this to everyone who doesn't have Auto-renewal turned on.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

I have auto renew off, but mine expires in Jan 2027. Didn’t get that email.
Probably just an auto email that’s not worth thinking twice about.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

So it's just a mistake I guess? Seems like a weird thing to happen since they know when my subscription it paid through. Whatever. It would probably be longer if they allowed more than 3 years of stacking.

I got it today and don't have auto renew. I check and my sub doesn't end until the end of this December, so I was definitely confused.

It's a shitty email to send to people whose subscription isn't close to expiring, right?
