Re: The Outer Worlds (10/25/2019: PC, XB1, PS4)
Picked this up over the weekend. I knew I would love it and it hasn't disappointed. I'm up to lvl22; doing everything I can to take in the world/lore. I don't think I'm very far into the story but I've done a bunch of side/companion quests.
Only gripe for now is that ever since I found a gun I liked and fully modded/tweaked it as high as it could go for now, everything is a bit too easy.

Other than the very beginning, I don't think I have either. No need for any stat boosts when I'm already this strong against the enemies.

Finished the story last night. Ended up being a lot shorter than I expected. I did every quest I ran across and got all the companions. I'm going to look around a guides to see if I missed anything major.
Why does the solar system map have named locations that you can never go to? I was real surprised when I got the "point of no return" message at the end; I thought I still had a ton of game left to get through.

I'm guessing those areas will be part of DLC expansions.

I only did the "good " quests. I didn't try to turn Phineas in so I missed out on all those quests. I also didn't do any of the Sublight missions. I might go back and do those later, but I didn't want to work for Sublight or The Board. Did you do all of those quests? I know you can work for The Board quite a bit before you have to decide whether to turn Phineas in or not.

Could be. Outside the length, my only real complaint was loading times. Too often and far too long even with a SSD in my PS4 Pro.

I wish they had made it more apparent where/when long side quest lines started. Older TES games at least had dedicated mage/fighters guilds in each city so you knew where to go. I wouldn't be surprised if I missed at least one I was able to do.

started this game.
why can't i unequip certain weapons?
never mind. i realized when u are holding a weapn u can't unequip.
I'm playing as a shooter staying back. is dodge/block useful in this case?

Bunch of reviews are up mostly saying it's good but just more Outer Worlds nothing exceptional. That's good enough for me although releasing 11 months after the game came out means I will have completely forgotten how to play the game.

I had forgotten all about this. I guess I'll reinstall and try out the new DLC.

I wrapped up the DLC last night. One new planet and then has you return to a few old planets for a couple quests. Probably around 6 or so hours to do everything. It was decent but nothing super impressive. I expected more since it is releasing almost a year after the game did.

I guess it’s cause of dlc. See, GP does get dlc. Looks pretty great actually. Very BioShock: Infinite vibe, but of course more RPG. I did like the few minutes I played, just don’t have attention span right now for the time that game would take me right now.

I just happened to be looking through the games on my shelf today and remembered that the final DLC for this came out last month so I played a couple hours and so far it's grabbing me more than the first DLC. You're solving a murder mystery and you get a detective vision style weapon which helps you find clues.

PS4 and XO versions of the game are being delisted. Free upgrade to Spacer's Choice for those who own the base game by 5/27 :
Today we have news to share about an update coming to The Outer Worlds as well as changes being made to the store pages. Starting today we will be pushing a couple of updates to The Outer Worlds through the Spacer’s Choice Edition. Today’s update is to test our release pipeline and fix a few issues that are in the game. The second patch will be larger bringing performance fixes, lighting changes, a host of other quest and gameplay fixes, and bringing in a brand-new feature to the original game: grenades!Along with the second patch, we have big store changes planned. Starting May 27th, the base game edition of The Outer Worlds will be delisted and the Spacer’s Choice Edition will be the single version of the game going forward. For those who already have the original version of the game in your libraries, it won’t be going anywhere. After May 27th, however, the only version of The Outer Worlds that will be available on most store pages will be the Spacer’s Choice Edition. The only platforms not affected by this are Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
But wait, there’s more! If you have at least the base edition of The Outer Worlds in your library before May 27th, you will be receiving the Spacer’s Choice Edition free. That’s right, free! This is for all platforms that the Spacer’s Choice Edition is on (Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG). After May 27th, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition will be available for $39.99.
A few other store changes are coming to those who have Xbox Ones and PlayStation 4s. After May 27th to upgrade to the Spacer’s Choice Edition from the base game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, you will need to own the base game and both DLCs for The Outer Worlds. That said, we are removing the paid upgrade path and as long as you have everything, the Spacer’s Choice Edition will be yours. The base game and DLCs are also getting pricing adjustments to $24.99 and $14.99 respectively on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
